Re: Region 15
Waverly was moved from the SE Ohio D4 Region 15 back to the SW Ohio Region 16 and the perception is the Tiger pathway to a deep playoff run would be easier where they were last year. Even though Waverly sits atop R16 in rating points, conventional wisdom and past history indicate the likes of Cin. Indian Hills, Cin. Wyoming, and Clinton Massie are stronger programs than Bloom-Carrol, Licking Valley, and St Clairsville.Jokerswild wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 3:30 am Why does Waverly wish they were still there? Didn’t advance far last year did they?

I get the perception, it was the perception last year when they were there. Once again, they didn’t make it last season so why would it be different this time?

Really don’t think Waverly would advance out of either region, but I get where Omega’s coming from for sure.
Re: Region 15
Well since Waverly lost in the playoffs last year and will likely lose at some point in time in the playoffs this year, I guess it makes no difference to which D4 Region the Tigers are assigned . I apologize for daring to match wits with your intellect.Jokerswild wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 12:56 am I get the perception, it was the perception last year when they were there. Re: Region 15
It’s not about my intellect or yours. I just find it comical that if your not from southern Ohio you know nothing. Other than Massey, which team has been in the state finals much if at all out of Waverlys region. Not many if at all. I get you hear more about the Cincinnati area teams more being on Rt 23, but there is good football played all over the state. Licking valley may not have a bunch of state titles to show but they have played in a few, st c I agree can and is overrated so really you’re right. The big names are not in the region, doesn’t mean there isn’t good football being played.Omega wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 5:37 amWell since Waverly lost in the playoffs last year and will likely lose at some point in time in the playoffs this year, I guess it makes no difference to which D4 Region the Tigers are assigned . Re: Region 15
Licking Valley would body any team in Region 16. They're big, physical, and they bully other teams around. If GA makes it in, they're the one team I hope they don't draw.
Re: Region 15
The difference between Region 15 & 16 is night and day!! State champions come out of Region 16 constantly.Jokerswild wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 3:30 am Why does Waverly wish they were still there? Didn’t advance far last year did they?
Re: Region 15
I might be bias because I'm from Waverly. And I just might not understand part of the conversation but waverly made it to the second round last year and that was the first time in many years they may not be the team like other bigger teams in there Region but for Waverly size, they are a much better team then last year in all aspects and if they go deep in the playoffs and lose badly to a much bigger team then so be it. But if the team's sleep on waverly they will take advantage of it in every way they are well-coached and have well rounded and disciplined athletes. But my point is don't sleep or look over them thanking it will be a cake walk. Cause that is when the Tigers will strike... But good luck to all team's in all of Ohio and off subject that most of us on here have in common..... GO BUCKS.....
BE UNCOMMON... GO TIGERS!!

Re: Region 15
Licking Valley is a very good team. But they beat Granville by 2 points and Waverly beat them by 1. So I’d say there would be at least a few teams in region 16 that could compete/beat them.MisterGalliaGuy2016 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:09 am Licking Valley would body any team in Region 16. Re: Region 15
You do realize that Region 16 changes every year right? Different teams move in and out...For example, Coldwater, Kettering Alter, John Alder...All of those teams have won or played for state titles in Region 16 since the year 2006.Jokerswild wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:51 pmIt’s not about my intellect or yours. There have been six state champions come from this region and four state runner-ups since 2006. So, 10 out of the last 13-14 seasons a team from region 16 has played for a state title...id say there has been a lot of teams that have been good...

Re: Region 15
Waverly also only beat Burg by 1. Does that mean Burg would fare as well as Waverly or Licking Valley in D-IV R-15 or R-16?MasterOfNone wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 12:47 pmLicking Valley is a very good team. Plus you figure Waverly got Granville in week 1 and needed some help from Lady Luck (not taking anything away from them, because they still had to play well enough to be in that position) to win that game.
