Re: 15% attendance
Now that is a plan. Self imposed 15% attendance for playoff games. Would love to see the faces in Columbus when they get those gate checks.

I believe that people are putting the blame on the wrong group. OHSAA would love to have the gates wide open. It is the State of Ohio and in particular the Dept. of Health that is limiting attendance. Because of budget issues, OHSAA would milk every dollar possible if they could.

Re: 15% attendance
The OHSAA doesn't care about attendance at regular season games. And the ODH/Gov have shown they only care about perception when they decided to limit attendance to family members but permit the media and college scouts to attend high school games. Unless they have evidence that the "media" and "college scouts" are immune from the virus and can't spread it then they are huge hypocrites on this issue.Buckeye1972 wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 9:33 am I believe that people are putting the blame on the wrong group. Re: 15% attendance
OHSAA is not some monster that some people claim it to be. They are actually all of the high schools in the state of Ohio, so you are wrong that they don't care about regular season attendance. Every school is concerned about attendance so the OHSAA is concerned. OHSAA would not exist without the high schools of Ohio. If schools can't afford sports, OHSAA would not exist. I know some of their policies and decisions I am not in favor of but I also have met a number of their employees and I believe they are trying to the best they can. OHSAA polices the schools and without them, there would be total chaos.
Re: 15% attendance
The OHSAA doesn't get a dime from the regular season games. They get every penny from the playoff games. So you tell me which they care about? No need, we all know the answer to that.Buckeye1972 wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 11:06 am OHSAA is not some monster that some people claim it to be. The idea about having the media at the games is to provide coverage for people who are not allowed to attend.NY Tomcat wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 9:40 amThe OHSAA doesn't care about attendance at regular season games. Re: 15% attendance
Again, the high schools own OHSAA - they elect the officers of the OHSAA - it would be against their own interests to not care about regular season.
They may not receive revenue from the regular season but their owner do.

Re: 15% attendance
Why don't they just let the people go watch the games? It makes more sense to let family and community members attend than media people from other towns. No matter, if "they" really thought the virus could spread so wildly at an outside event they would not permit the media to attend, not to mention college scouts. That's just ridiculous and contradictory.bman wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 2:33 pmThe idea about having the media at the games is to provide coverage for people who are not allowed to attend.NY Tomcat wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 9:40 amThe OHSAA doesn't care about attendance at regular season games. Re: 15% attendance
I read a article that bengals are increasing fans from 6000 to 12000 remaining home games. High school needs to increase a little bit.
