Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
As a true football fan, thank you.
Ironton, Burg and Jackson playing each other is outstanding for Southern Ohio football, no matter the results. The fact that I get to watch them play 3 out of the first 5 weeks is a blessing.
For SEOPS land in 2021 season: Before negatively commenting on Burg, Jackson or Ironton, have 1 question. Does your school play them? If not, sit this one out.
Ironton, Burg and Jackson combined, have to fill 14 out of conference dates. They called your AD. Why didn’t he pick up?
Burg is the only SOC team that plays Ironton.
Ironton is the only OVC team that plays Burg. All others want no part.
Other than Burg and Ironton, no SOC or OVC team plays Jackson.
Why didn’t your AD pick up the phone?
I’d you only play 1 of the 3, it’s because you have to. If any weren’t in your league, you’d cancel the contract.
Props to Chilli for scheduling Burg. But my guess is, they want no part of Ironton.
I could care less about divisions. These games are good for Southern Ohio Football. Hope they continue.
Again, thank you, from a football fan.

When I was in HS many years ago, we occasionally played Jackson. One year we defeated Jackson and kids threw rocks at our bus as we were leaving the school lot.Whiplash wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 11:56 pm As a true football fan, thank you.

Waverly played Jackson during the late 2000s and early 2010s. Wish they’d renew it. Along with Chillicothe on schedule apart of our non conf. Played Ironton in our scrimmage. And of course the great SOC match up against Burg
A Kicker of various balls. Trust The Process
Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
Well considering it's your first post it's a mighty strange one. You go on to talk about the 3 playing which I think everyone can agree is great and then ask ppl to not talk negative. Then turn around and talk negative about other teams as if you know who was or wasn't contacted, essentially being the one to begin the negative post. You should've just stopped after the first line instead you stooped down to be negative.Whiplash wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 11:56 pm As a true football fan, thank you.

Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
Goose, you’re wrong. My goal wasn’t to stop all SEOPS negativity. This is social media. This site is 50% negative.
I guess I just hate it when I see tons of fans badmouth Burg cause they get beat by Ironton. Someone will bad mouth Ironton for not beating Jackson worse or saying they can’t compete with Moeller. You’ll see badmouthing Jackson if they get beat by Burg. And all this will be done from a fan of a school that flat out, won’t play any of them.
Just felt like standing up for these 3 programs. Not sure why you care if I do.
Obviously, negativity won’t stop on here. It’s part of the game. I get it. But I can get frustrated on here and write something too I guess. You may not like how I wrote it. But it’s true.
And not sure why you point out it’s my first post. And not sure how that’s relevant.

You obviously missed the irony of it, for some reason you felt like standing up for these 3 programs and combat negativity. However you done it in a VERY negative way if you can't see that in how you wrote it up I can't help ya. Would've understood had someone been negative to you congratulating them but you literally went negative on other teams and their ADs as if you think no one is picking up the phone or something. I don't think one cuts off negativity by being negative pretty sure that's how you start it.Whiplash wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 1:06 am Goose, you’re wrong. My goal wasn’t to stop all SEOPS negativity. Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
Burg, ironton, and Jackson definitely get a lot of undeserved hate and I’m not sure where it comes from
Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
I don't think Jackson really gets to much hate their way, but Burg and Ironton definitely do and I think it's more of one fan base to another. You also have outside posters who want to knock a team for any loss as kind of there ha ha moment or something.Ironmen34 wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 2:05 pm Burg, ironton, and Jackson definitely get a lot of undeserved hate and I’m not sure where it comes from
Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
I agree on on ironton and burg. Maybe I notice the hate on Jackson a little more because I’m a fan. For example before this game with ironton a lot of people from gallia and vinton county were bashing the Ironmen pretty good. It’s all good though. I guess it all comes down to jealousy at the end of the daygreygoose wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 2:23 pmI don't think Jackson really gets to much hate their way, but Burg and Ironton definitely do and I think it's more of one fan base to another. Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
I like the top end respect each team has for each other….not saying other teams don’t, just saying. Ironton and Jackson last night was special regardless of how it ended.
Play every single year…do it
Play every single year…do it
Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
3 historically excellent programs with storied pasts. Each program will have their ups and downs but it's good to see them all playing each other.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a feast
Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
I agree these programs are excellent. And I am glad they play each other. But to say who plays them or not is not necessarily true. Gallia played ironton year in and year out in league or out of league. Now Gallia after only winning 1 game in. 21 years did ask out of contract. Before they joined them in league.
Jackson has a open contract to sign and play Gallia academy anytime home and home. But their coach has stated publicly that his team will never go to memorial field again. So that isn’t happening.
Gallia and wheelersburg aren’t going to play one another but that has a lot more to do with personal things not the competition on the field.
Not personal in a bad way. The wheelersburg coach has a lot of local ties in Gallipolis and it is my understanding that is just not a road they want to go down.
I am sure if Gallia academy improved to where they were competing on that level regularly that maybe those games would get scheduled

The gold standard in SE Ohio football. These schools should keep playing each other on a yearly basis.*

Re: Ironton, Jackson & Burg…Thank you.
That's very good information thanks, in SEO I think some fans just think, "hey we tried to call these guys they didn't want to play". It takes much much more than that, heck you've got to have the right dates to align in order to even make anything happen. Then we look at the size of schools in the area and that automatically cuts most teams out of the running to play any of these teams. Teams in the SVC who are at the top could possibly line up something but they've only got 3 non-league games so it makes scheduling a bit tougher in that since. I do believe a team like Athens and they get involved with Waverly and Jackson from time to time should play those types of teams each year especially with them being in the TVC as for the most part they're simply not pushed. Chillicothe is taking on both Burg and Waverly this year while being in the FAC with Jackson. A team like Clinton Massie could be a good one but with that you're looking at anywhere between 90-120 minutes of driving which honestly isn't bad for a once a year deal.svac83 wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 8:20 pm I agree these programs are excellent. For an individual to want to bash ADs for not answering a phone as they say, they simply have no idea who has called who. I'm doubting any of these 3 are calling up Northwest or Symmes Valley to play given their location wouldn't that be an awesome idea.

Sure wish they could’ve gotten a new field.
They need some money pumped into that program to move forward and grow the program. Even the smallest Southern Ohio schools are getting new turf fields.
Hopefully it happens.
I miss Gallia Academy being a city school. I’m sure it probably still is. But doesn’t have that feel any more.
