Yeah, Point lost at home to a mediocre AAA Greenbrier East squad 32-22. If Point can limit turnovers they might give Gallia a competitive game.

The style of play could be a factor. Gallia's spread and speed vs Point's 11 & 12 power personnel. If healthy, Gallia should have the edge in skill players and possibly the line. Unfortunately, the low numbers could be a factor health-wise the rest of the season. Gallia will need to consistently win the first and fourth quarters by jump out to a quick lead and have enough in the tank to finish. There are negatives to having low numbers, but the positive is all the kids get more reps/coaching and develop at an accelerated rate.

I would bet that Gallia Academy will have more yards on the ground along with the win. Too many options for Gallipolis. Skill players for Point are soft.

gallia wins this game. Have no idea what the score will be. Point is solid this year. But nothing special or that stands out. Gallia should take another step forward offensively and defensively. Still a lot to work on both sides of ball. But the good part to that is this team has a huge upside potential.

There were a lot of years after that. this game was not scheduled. The rivalry is not nearly as heated now. But i can tell you though. it is still the game on gallia academy's schedule where the fans are the rudest to each other. This is true in basketball and football and pretty much in every sport.

I remember my dad listening to that game on the radio (Bill Grey). Didn't play for several years after that.

Seems like I remember a gang fight near Ordinance School between these two the week of the game. Sometime in the early 80's I think.
