Is it true they voted 4-1 to exit the OVC?

Could this be step 1 a potential SOC/OVC merger of sorts?

I thought someone posted that a SOC rep was going to be at the meeting. Or I read it wrong somewhere

I don’t know how Rick Hill fits into the current SOC. They’d be another tweener school, not quite big enough to compete with Wheelersburg, Waverly, West, etc. and too big for Symmes Valley, Green, Western, etc. to ever vote yes.

To me, one of two possibilities:

Most/all OVC schools going to merge/join SOC and go with three divisions

Rock Hill, Coal Grove, and some mix of the SOC tweeners (Oak Hill, Northwest, Minford?) and some OVC old schoolers (Chesapeake and South Point) look to start a new league.

I have to imagine Rock Hill didn’t just do this to not have the next step somewhat planned out.

I’m very curious about what’s going on. 3 divisions doesn’t sound bad

Lots of moving pieces, if done correctly this could greatly benefit a lot of teams.

IF true I think you'll see more of a snowball effect that could end in most of the OVC teams doing this. Like you said SOC probably isn't a great fit like you said they're just too much of a tweener type of school. I'm not sure how many players they field on the team in order to be SOC1. Been saying it for awhile something will happen, like you said if Rock Hill is doing this I'm sure they've already got a plan on the back burner that'll be set into motion they're not doing this on a whim.

Some schools are actually talking but it's not about anyone leaving the OVC. it's about bring teams to the OVC and making to divisions. It's a lot of moving parts and what ifs.
