Week 5: 1-3 (1-0) Vinton County @ 4-0 (1-0) Athens

Vinton County travels to The Plains this Friday night for the second week of TVC Ohio action. The defending Champs got in the win column last week with a big win over the Meigs Marauders. Meanwhile, Athens hasn’t lost a regular season game since the Vikings beat them last year in McArthur. The Bulldogs are looking for their 10th straight regular season win and are also looking to continue their early season success as we near the halfway point of the season.

Athens is looking like the team to beat in the TVC this season. Athens looks strong in most of the sports this year. Counting the Girls too.

I would like to think that the Vikings could maybe get their second win of the season this coming weekend, but I'm afraid that the Bulldogs will probably have second thoughts about that. I hope that I'm wrong, but the Vikings will probably leave the Plains with their 4th loss of the season.

Coach Richards seems to do pretty well against Athens. It should be a good game when it happens. Athens is undefeated and should be given a lot of credit for a great year. This group of players were down and worked hard to get where they are now.

Thank you for letting everyone know Athens is the largest school in the TVC Ohio but we already knew that.

I guess someone needs to let Meigs know that Athens is already penciled in for the TVC Ohio in basketball this winter. No need in even playing.
