Total toss up. Warren, FF, and Marietta are as even as they’ve ever been.

Comes down to turnovers or maybe a key injury.

Might change but Drew has Fort Frye -16. That seems super high to me.

I’d give FF -3.5 this year at home. The inverse would be true if this game were in Marietta. -16 is really, really high.

16 is actually too low. Has anyone really looked at Marietta’s schedule compared to Fort Frye’s. At this time of the year, schedule strength matters. If you’re 5-2 and ranked below teams with losing records, it’s because you haven’t beaten ANYONE! Fort Frye will make a statement in this one. 34-13.

I'm not sure why you think you're the only one with this knowledge about Marietta's schedule. It doesn't take a genius to pull up the Joe Eitel page and see the records for the teams we've beaten are not good. Also, not sure what you get out of making these kinds of posts disparaging programs that have been down for decades.

I'd say when you haven't had a winning season in 22 years, it is a smart decision to schedule competitive, winnable games and that's exactly what we've done. This isn't the NFL, these are high school kids.

I said in the TSL thread that I thought the league was Fort Frye's to lose, but I know Marietta is going to show up ready to go after last night's let down. Give me MHS by a TD.

I’m not the one on here putting on point spreads. I just know Fort Frye has played tougher teams and at this time of the year, that matters. Go take a chill pill and cheer for your Tigers.

It’s what he is. He’ll tell all about how bad someone is but never, ever give credit. He’ll tell other people to chill out but he doesn’t chill when he’s putting down high school kids and programs. I’m sure his background is rooted in an illustrious program that wins playoff games year in and year out, so he certainly knows what it takes. I’m sure he’ll have a smart remark to this post, but I really don’t care. It’s beyond tired. I’m on your side when it comes to this.

Cadets getting healthy. I’m hopeful they can get 1 or 2 of the guards back. The penalties have killed Fort every week. I think Fort has a huge speed advantage but Marietta has the size advantage. I’ll take Fort Frye close because I think they have top player in the game. If we’re being honest Seth Britton is having a great season but he’s out of position. He’s really a fb playing wing.

"Strength of schedule" is the last refuge of the ignorant fan looking for a reason to be negative. There is only so much good that "scheduling up" will do. However this game turns out, the scheduler isn't responsible for the final score.

Good way to put it. What he doesn’t realize, or won’t admit, is that both Warren and Marietta have the chance to finish 8-2 and win a league title, which for those programs is a great season historically. Whether that happens or not is TBD, but a great season for both teams, relatively, is still on the table.

Spot on. I understand the strength of schedule argument to an extent, but it just doesn't make sense in the case of Marietta or Warren. I'm sure if Marietta was coming into this game at (2-5) instead with blowout losses to Dover, New Philly, and PHS, notsofast would be predicting a Tiger victory.

Maybe it's just me, but teams like Marietta and Warren should be easy to root for. After years of struggling, just to see these kids winning games and having a shot at a league title is awesome.

Out of position, or not, Britton has been awesome. I lost count last night the number of times he turned what should have been a 1 yard gain tops into a gain of 4 or 5.

He’s incapable of it. And the same would be true for us if we came in at 2-5 against PHS, South, and Jackson. Except scheduling those teams before you’re ready is how you get 1-9 and 0-10. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about to begin with. He talks in circles, with no clear direction or facts/numbers to back up anything he says besides strength of schedule. And that takes no analytical thinking to evaluate. It’s the same thing, over and over and over again.

Yeah because he was lowering his shoulders and running through kids. That's a fullback.

Are we trying to make the playoffs or finish 8-2 with a 4 team league title? Yeah. You’re right I have no idea what I’m talking about but I do see where THREE 3-4 teams are ranked above both 5-2 Warren and Marietta with better odds of going to the playoffs. How is that possible? Give me better facts than that begg.

Since you’re good at point spreads. Give us the point spread on Warren vs Marietta. Enquiring minds need to know for betting purposes. And about putting schools and kids down. You’re the one saying Warren had “bad personnel” playing D line a few weeks ago. Might review your posts before pointing fingers.

How many playoff games were you a part of? What standard did you help set? What precedent do you think exists at these schools? Winning a league title and getting to 8 wins is an objectively good season at these schools. You are the strangest kind of "fan" imaginable.
