Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I’ve seen several posts on social media where Ironton fans are drumming up support for people to go to the board meeting. What exactly is going on?

No, he’s not leaving, the people speaking on Social Media are just trying to get him a pay raise.

There is only one board member who would vote against it. If you aren’t sure which one, be a runner and not a Walker and DM me.

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
Who knows. These people think Ironton school system is made of money. Maybe the people that wants to get him more money. Should pony up the money. If not and he wants to leave. Go for it.
Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I’m told not necessarily for coaching. Although it’s been posted he is one of the lowest paid coaches in SEO. He’s the AD at Ironton and for years Ironton AD was a Full time Administrative position. Then when they went to OVC they cut the position back to half teacher/ and made AD part-time. Last year BOE made the AD position full time again but only increased pay a few thiusand dollars from part time. He is now one of if not the lowest paid full time AD in SEO as well. They are wanting to get him back to administrative pay and keep him long term. That’s all. I’m told this is completely a community led deal and not from Coach Pendleton or Teachers Union.

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
Who doesn't want a larger check! I hope they pay him 100k per year
Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I’m hearing the issue is that the board and higher ups worry this will be an every year thing. Where every year he will continue to be offered jobs with higher pay and then again the school will be placed in this position to pay him more money.
I vote pay the man and give him what he needs, unfortunately my vote doesn’t go as far as the boards.

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I thought he got a big bump when he supposedly turned down the Moeller job? So he didn’t?
Also, how is Ironton school system doing financially? That is the biggest consideration in giving a raise.

Um... collective bargaining might be a complicating factor in this talk of paying the coach more money.
And the Ohio Teacher Code of Ethics might have issue with outside supplemenation of his pay.

You can look up his or any other ohio public employees salary on thebuckeyeinstitute .org

Wow! Assume he owns a business or has other means of income because that’s not paying the bills.gobucs20 wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 3:24 pm You can look up his or any other ohio public employees salary on thebuckeyeinstitute .org

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I hope they pay him he saved Ironton Football.
He took over the Athletic Directors position and has all sports gearing in the right direction.
He helped get a new score board and lights for the stadium with donations yes but he helped spearheaded it.
He has the student athletes donating time to help the community found snow shoving for the elderly and other such things.
Pay the man he deserves it.

Probably referring to his AD position, if I had to guess. Especially since it’s over $10k.fbnut wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 11:36 pm Coordinator assignment? What exactly is that? 3 coaching assignments, what else does he coach?
