2011 World Series
No one has started the topic and it's kinda a big deal so I figured I would.
As of 10:54 pm October 20, the Cardinals lead the series 1-0 and are tied and 1 in game 2, top of the ninth. Rangers are in scoring position.
Thoughts, predictions??

The Machine hits 3 homers.....ties the Babe and Reggie Jackson for most WS homers in one game.

2-2 now. Big pitching performance by the Ohio native Derek Holland. 8.1 inning pitched of 2 hit shut out ball

Mike Napoli has 2 consecutive games with big clutch hits. If Texas can win the series he's probably the mvp

Re: 2011 World Series
I guess the Cards need to walk him everytime like the Rangers are doing with Albert....a walk last night with nobody on....they will walk him with the bases loaded.tomcat fan wrote:Mike Napoli has 2 consecutive games with big clutch hits. If Texas can win the series he's probably the mvp

Re: 2011 World Series
If I was managing against Albert in the world series I would walk him everytime as long as there is a base open. As for Napoli if he keeps batting in the 8 spot don't be surprised is they do walk him since game 6 & 7 are in st Louis and the pitchers spot will be up after him

Re: 2011 World Series
Is it over yet? 95% of America doesn't care about these two teams. Give me the Yankees (so I can hate 'em and root against 'em) or the Red Sox (go Sawx) so I have an interest. Or the Reds although I don't have the same passion since 1990 (that seems so long ago, and don't get me started about the Big Red Machine). Oh, to be young again!

If you're not a baseball fan then of course you don't care.....if you are a baseball fan you should watch the Card's win if you get a chance....will be played again since it was one of the greatest baseball games ever. Twice the Cards were behind and down to their last strike in the 9th and extra innings....then Freese hits a walk-off.

Re: 2011 World Series
I'm a baseball fan but not as big a one as I used to be. MLB has a lot to do with that. This game doesn't evolve. The games are too long, the season is too long and there are too many irrelevant teams. Shrink the league to about 20 teams, take the season down to about 140 games and have the World Series done by the end of September. By the time football gets cranked up, I'm not watching baseball (or NASCAR) anymore.

I watched maybe 20 pitches during the playoffs and series.
Baseball like the NBA just isn't fun for me any more.
