One of the gutsiest victories I have ever seen. Big Ben is in a walking boot, suffered a broken nose, Flozell Adams goes out, multiple missed calls that went against Pittsburgh, and yet they win 13-10.
On a side note, I have to say that Pittsburgh fans should be so outraged by the terrible officiating that went on in this game. The most notable call being a play in which Heath Miller recieved a helmet to helmet hit that bent back his neck and knocked him out for the rest of the game. No flag thrown. Yet James Harrison gets fined four seperate times in which in my opinion the hit against the Browns was the only won that warranted any league action. Later in the broadcast Al Michaels announced that they had spoken to a head member of NFL officiating he said there definetly should have been a flag thrown on the Miller hit. To me, this is all because the Steelers players made a direct stand through the media against the ridiculous fines given out by Roger Goodell. Call me a Pittsburgh homer, call me a conspiracy theororist, but I know what I saw.

After watching the game, it's pretty obvious that, if you don't wear a black and gold jersey with the #92 on it, you can pretty much hit anybody the way you want to. It was pretty much like any other game that the Steelers and Browns (ooops), I mean Ravens play, very physical. GOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Steelers win at Baltimore
The hit on Miller was not helmet to h helmet. The defender hit him more with his chest to the head. The angle of the hit with Miller falling down helped to create that. But the rule is the rule. Some plays happen so fast that it is hard to judge where the hit happened. Some refs call it to fast and some don't. That is where a ref like the replay ref could review plays quickly then buzz the field. Some of the calls on helmet to helmet are not the right calls. This could help to give the players a better understanding on the field that plays will be called right. Even if replayed.
The Ravens didn't score enough when they had the chances. They let the Steelers stay close for a chance to win at the end. The Ravens should have gone after McFadden even more than what they did. The offensive line is a problem for the Steelers especially if Heath Miller has to miss games.

How either the hit on Miller or the one on Roethlisberger wasn't called is beyond me, it boggles my mind. Whether it was intentional or not, Ngata put a hand in Roethlisberger's face and ultimately broke his nose. That should have been called. Also, the hit on Miller was the exact same hit that Harrison got fined and penalized for in the Browns game, yet McClain wasn't penalized for it? I have no problem with physical football, but if you are gonna call it one way, you HAVE to call it the other as well. Looks to me that the Steelers, particularly James Harrison, are being singled out. Apparently rules don't apply to anyone else but the guys who wear a black and gold uniform. Both of those guys should be fined.
Despite all the controversy, this was a great game, possibly game of the year. Great defense on both sides of the ball and the Steelers showed that defense does win the game. Polamalu made a great play, I believe it was the turning point of the game. I'm glad they passed on 4th and 2, but why didn't they just punt? Oh well, I'll take it. Roethlisberger showed that he's a warrior, playing with a bad foot and a broken nose. Great win. GO STEELERS!

This was good, hard-hitting football at it's best. All you critics of hard hits can keep your over-priced, no-hits-allowed-on-the-high-priced-talent joke you call NFL football, but for a few glorious hours last night, pro football got back to what it once was - to what made it great. Two teams who wanted to be out there and have pure hatred for one another - like the Steelers/Raiders back in the 70s - where you clobber a guy and then tell him you're taking his mom out later tonight for a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing and not to wait up for her. Big game, big hits, big-time players, big win for the Steelers.

If there is no action by Goodell about what happened last night, I'd expect the Rooneys, the Steelers, and the Players Union to lynch him in less than a week. What a crock.
Fuzz - I've been watching the NFL as long as you have, and I agree, that was a throwback game last night, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and especially liked the outcome. However, I'm really perturbed that the refs couldn't make glaringly obvious calls last night. You look at these plays, in the wake of the call that Ed Hockules (sp), aka Hercules, made in the Chicago/Detroit game when Suh took Cutler down when he was running the ball, and the disparity is absolutely ridiculous.
These buttclowns keep this up, I will quit watching NFL football, after 40+ years as an avid fan. Commish better act quickly, and consistently. Otherwise, the NFL is the new WWE.
