Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
Prelims Predictions:
Pierce decision. I wish Pierce would drop to 155 which would suit his body alot better. But its hard to argue with him when his only loss at 170 is to Jon Fitch who he had on the ropes at the end.
Kingsbury decision
Yamamoto 1st rnd sub.
Taylor decision
Mendes decision. Though I don't think he's ready Mendes will probably be thrust into the title picture if I'm right
Cerrone 2nd Rnd sub. Kelly struggled with the reach of his last opponent (TJ O'Brien) and Cerrone is a much better striker.
Main Predictions:
Torres 2nd Rnd TKO. Banuelos will put up a good fight but I feel Miguel has too much
Jones decision.
Ellenberger 2nd Rnd KO. Rocha's sub game is good but Jake is good enough to stay out and have his way
Franklin decision. Really even matchup
Silva 3rd rnd TKO. Chael Sonnen found Silva's chin in the stand up but Chael has pillow hands and Vitor doesnt so if Vitor can connect early he could easily win the fight. But I think he won't and Anderson will break Belfort mentally and cruise in rounds 2 and 3.
KO of the Night: Silva
Sub of the Night: Cerrone
Fight of the Night: Torres/Banuelos

Sam Stout hurt and Donald Cerrone will take his place against Paul Kelly. I'll take Cerrone by 2nd rnd sub.
Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
Outside of a puncher's chance he has nothing to offer Jones. Even to get that puncher's chance he has to get inside of that ridiculous reach. Everyone I talked to hates this fight because it does nothing for Jones and only diminishes/exposes Bader. The Enforcer wrote:I agree with you on all But the Bader/Jones Fight, I think(hope) Bader wins

Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
I cant wait for this one! Silva and Jones are my 2 favorite fighters. Both are going to be awesome fights though. This is going to be Anderson's biggest test so far and Bader has size on Jones, hopefully Jones can get on top and throw them bows! Also, Franklin and Griffin is going to be a hell of a fight.
Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
Timing is everything. A few years ago this wouldn't even be remotely competitive, but now with Vitor's improvements and Anderson aging (it's happening...) it makes this an incredibly exciting match-up for the better.

Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
I think Silva is finally outmatched in striking just because of Belfort's power. I'd imagine Silva will try to fight in the clinch alot and throw high kicks to keep the space. I don't really know how good Belfort's ground game is but submissions are just as exciting as a knockout IMO.

Belfort's jiu jitsu is great, he doesn't show it alot (2 submissions in his career) he armbarred Joe Charles way back when without throwing a single punch.

Rashad Evans blew his knee out while training and Jon Jones has been offered and accepted to step in against Shogun Rua at UFC 128 for the Light Heavyweight Title

Silva's KO was awesome! I don't know why every opponent lets Silva feel him out for a couple minutes? I think you have to go right after him to beat him. I cant wait for the Jon Bones Jones to get the belt!

Re: UFC 126: Silva vs Belfort
The Jones/Shogun fight is intriguing on so many different levels. Jones has faced no one within Shogun's class (None come close). Shogun will be the fastest fighter and best striker/grappler that Jones has faced. But then again its not like Jones has had any problems with those inferior foes. Jones looks like an unlockable puzzle but so did Machida, and Shogun beat him down twice.
Also originally Rampage was offered the title shot but he turned it down basically saying he's too fat to lose all the weight in time for the fight.
