No Fans At Next Two Nascar Races (UPDATED to Races Postponed)

Post by Omega »

From Nascar.com

At this time, NASCAR will hold its race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway without fans in attendance. These events will be restricted to competitors, crews, officials and other necessary personnel to conduct the race. We will work with public health officials as we determine future scheduling beyond these events.”

A few years ago it was one of the hottest tickets around, not so much anymore. Not sure why it's not as popular as it once was, I'm pretty sure that ticket prices have not decreased though.

Although I am not a NASCAR fan, I used to go to Martinsville with family. The experience was fun and a reaffirmation of Americana. Around 2005 though, the experience went Madison Avenue, too slick, too commercial.

I guess I could say that I still am a fan, but nothing like I used to be. When working down south a few years ago, I did go to Atlanta Motor Speedway and Charlotte Speedway a few times. Tickets were always sky high even back then. I'm not sure why it's not as popular as it was back then, maybe the fact that a lot of the drivers back then have either been replaced or fazed out for younger drivers. I guess it's just like all the other sports, it's what have you done for me lately ?
