Under 5 to go regulation.....tied at 2

Well.....let's play some more bonus hockey!!

Tampa Bay seems to be playing not to lose. They have made more mental miscues in this game since game 1. Nerves??? You bet! Just gotta calm down...come out and play Lightning hockey. Credit Dallas....they won't give up!!

Stats remain even. Total shots after 60 minutes...
Dallas 27 (13 in 3rd)...Tampa Bay 30 (only 7 in 3rd). Power plays: Dallas 0-2 Tampa Bay 0-1

Let's go Lightning!!! Finish it!!

Still tied.....

Tampa outshot Dallas 7-1 in the 1st OT....the Stars first shot on goal came at the 17:51 mark. The Stars blocked 9 Lightning shots in the period as alot of Bolt shots went high (left and right). Both teams seem a little hesitant to pull the trigger....too many passes.

Shots: Dallas 30 Tampa Bay 14 Other stats even.

Onward to OT number 2......don't think Bolts....shoot the puck on goal....

Corey Perry puts a deflection past Vasilevskiy at 9:19 of 2nd OT to win it 3-2.

Game 6 is Monday night....8PM

Tampa had their chances....just couldn't put the biscuit in the basket. All goals by the Stars came off Lightning turnovers....got to clean that crap up!!

All the credit to the Stars.....Seguin got an assist along with Klingberg on the game winner.

Well....game 6 is almost here.

The Lightning need to come out and play their game. Put shots on net...make Khudobin uncomfortable. On defense, get the #!$& puck out of the zone quickly...all 3 goals in game 5 for the Stars came from mistakes in the D zone.

And score first!!!

Lightning lead 1-0 after 1st period....

Tampa Bay played their game in the period. Slight faceoff lead and also outhit Dallas. Shots...Tampa 11 Dallas 4. Most of the Stars shots came in the final 6 minutes (3 of 4).
The Bolts are still trying that stretch pass up the middle. Didn't make as many miscues in their D zone.

The Stars have 36 seconds of power play to start the second. Tampa went 1-2 on the power play in the 1st.

Gotta finish killing the Dallas power play....keep playing your game Lightning!!!

Oh....Alex Volkov makes his playoff debut (Verhaege out) for Tampa. He drew the 2nd Dallas penalty. Bogisian in on D for Rutta.

Blake Coleman makes it 2-0 Lightning at 7:14. Maroon and Paquette assist. Maroon with a steal at the red line...pass to Paquette...over to Coleman....goal.

Tampa continues to have the better play. Blocking Dallas passes at center and putting the puck back in their zone. Still making too many passes in the O zone for me. Quick pass...fake the shot...move and shoot.

Shots after 40 minutes...Tampa Bay 22 Dallas 8 Power play is Tampa 1-3...Dallas 0-2

Keep the pressure on Bolts....a 2 goal is not enough!! Keep pushing...T minus 20 minutes. The Stars will throw EVERYTHING at you now...defend and take advantage!!

Seal the deal.....onward to the 3rd

2020 Stanley Cup comes to the Tampa Bay Lightning!!!!!

4-2 over a very determined Dallas Stars. Khudobin kept them in each and every game. Pavelski and Perry, the two older guys for the Stars played very well.

Brayden Point is my pick for the Conn-Smythe Trophy as the Final MVP....we shall see.

Tampa Bay played more OT minutes than any other team in NHL history.

Victor Hedman gets the Conn-Smythe as playoff MVP. Also well deserved. It could've went to.....Point, Kucherov, or Vasilevskiy. He did have 10 goals as a defenseman.

It's been a redemption for Tampa. After winning the President's Trophy last year....then losing in 4 straight to Columbus. Throw in 2015....and 2016 as well.

There is much celebrating in Cigar City USA!! I will light my victory cigar after breakfast.

I sincerely hope you guys up in SEOPS land enjoyed the playoffs.

I give credit to the NHL for their playoff set-up. Two "bubbles"....Edmonton and Toronto. The top 4 teams in each conference played a 3 game round robin for seeding. Teams in positions 5 thru 12 played a best of 5 series. And in March Madness style...both 12 seeds won their series.

A+++ to the NHL for the set-up!!!

Dallas played extremely well. I think the injury bug hurt them badly. Faksa and Comeau went down (Faksa early in the playoffs). Those two, along with Cogliano, was the checking line for the Stars. Khudobin was lights out...I swear he made some saves that he did not see the shot until it was on him.

Alot of folks were surprised with Dallas. They were not supposed to beat Colorado....they were not supposed to beat Vegas. But they did!!

And what about the Islanders?? They played well!!
