Re: 2025 Bengals
Higgins & Chase got paid, Hendrickson likely will too. You kept your best players, can’t be mad about that. The defense was bad last year, but should already be better with new additions in LB Oregon Burks replacing ADG and TJ Slaton brought in at NT to stop the run. The Bengals could not stop the run last season. Still need to get an edge rusher, and maybe replace Pratt who could be traded. But I think the defense who was really young will be better. Before getting hurt Turner & Hill were both having good seasons, Taylor-Britt played better at the end, Ossai & Murphy started to come on late in the year. The team needs to protect Burrow, I’d love to still sign a guard and draft one.
Walk away from the draft with an edge rusher, a LB, a DT, a Safety, an RB and a guard early and it’ll be a success. They also brought Perine back, who will help on 3rd down and in pass protection, Gesicki was retained, as well as utility OL Ford. Bengals didn’t do anything flashy outside of pay their own, but sometimes that’s all you need to do. The smaller moves were helpful, hit the draft, possibly bring in a few more cheap guys via FA and I think this team is a double digit win team, assuming they don’t start off 0-4 again, September is a rough month, can’t have that.
