Re: Reds 2013
2-1.... good season-opening series win over a top AL team... now, if we can just go 2-1 every 3 games, we will have a 108-54 record.

This series against the Nats ought to be a good one. If we come out ahead in this one it will make a nice statement.

Looks like the bats woke up last night!!!!
What a show they put on...Even Choo got in on the act.
Homer pitched a strong 6 innings, to bad his pitch count got high early, and the BP looked great.

Re: Reds 2013
Reds rally to extend to extra's, then with man on second, Dusty doesn't pinch hit for Meseraco. Unbelievable! Now they are down 2 going to bottom of the 11th.

We dropped a tough one yesterday.......
Bruce is starting to hit the ball well so that is good news.
I look for a low scoring game today.

Totally agree. He still sucks as a manager.
WTH did he bring in JJ Hoover?????? He has lost both games that they have lost. I think he has pitched in every game but yesterday's this year. Dusty will blow his arm out just like he has done a lot of pitchers over the years.
I was kind of hoping the Reds will falter to start the seaon and then maybe they would fire Dusty but it is not going to happen. For some reason the front office has "wood" for him and I just don't get it. Reds should 6-0 right now

GREAT MOVE BY DUSTY!!!!
HAVING PAUL PINCH HIT FOR A STRUGGLING COZART!!!
That game just shows that you have to keep playing. A little luck and a few hits and the Reds win

I'm liking the pitching match-ups for the rest of the Cardinal series (Arroyo v. Lynn & Bailey v. Westbrook)

Re: Reds 2013
Hopefully Choo got it out of his system for a while and doesn't commit any more errors for a while.

There is no doubt that Choo is a better hitter than Stubbs. Stubbs is better defensively, but I think this was a case where it was smart to give up some defense for a good leadoff hitter.blue53 wrote:Drew Stubbs so far this year: 25 at bats, 4 hits, 11 strike outs, 1 stolen base, 2 rbi..160 ave .160 obp .160 slg.

I agree that Choo is twice the hitter Stubbs is and Choo will never be able to cover the outfield like Stubbs did. I love the trade but Choo really needs to get it together in the field. My favorite thing about him is how he bounced back and played so well after the 2 horrible errors in the opener in St Louis.

It was obvious that Choo lost both of those balls in the sun. He will be okay. Like was said, I will take the offense over the defense any day.
Once again in last nights game Dusty leaves Arroyo in to long. It is obvious when Bronson starts to lose it, he loses it fast. It was the third time around for him against that lineup and they were starting to time his breaking balls. He is not going to overpower anyone and I just don't understand why Dusty can't realize that. Yank him when he starts to struggle in the 7th inning or later.

Re: Reds 2013
Two ugly games in a row. However, if you looked at the schedule before the season started, I think most rational Reds fans would have been happy with a 5-4 start
