At least the Reds are entertaining. Can someone give me some insight on how major league pitching is utilized in this day and age. 5 innngs max seems to be the norm for starters. Relief pitchers seem to have to have X days off between appearances. Is it protecting arms after the covid shortened season? Is it the minimum faced batter rule for relievers? Has analytics replaced managerial decisions?

Looks like he would want all inning he could out of a starter? When you you have the worst bullpen in baseball ? There bout really to trade for bullpen help so they say ?

As of the close of competition on 06/26/21, Cincinnati stands 38-37 on the season playing at a .507 clip. They are in third place, 5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds are 4-6 in their last 10 games. Cincy is 6 games back in the wild card race, having the 7th best record in the NL. As the MLB trade deadline is 33 days, the question becomes will the Reds try to obtain a legitimate shortstop and reliever or will they dump payroll and start another rebuild.

As of 7/03/21, Cincinnati is 42-40, good for second place in the NL Central, eight games back of the streaking Milwaukee Brewers who have now won 11 in a row. The Reds are 6-4 in their last ten and are playing decent ball, just not good enough to keep pace with the Brew Crew.
