Here's the tiebreaker if you REALLY want to be fair. Go look at the list of the 50 greatest NBA players of ALL TIME and see how many of them played in the era that you say wasnt as good.

You think older means worse. You have much to learn.

Here, Ill make it easier for you. Apparently the EXPERTS of the NBA think somebody like Paul Arizen (who played in the 40s and 50s) was one of the top 50 of all time. I wonder how many names you can pronounce or how many of them you know which team(s) they played for.

http://www.nba.com/history/players/50greatest.html
Paul Arizin is mentioned because he was one of the best of his generation and they believe its unfair to leave out everyone in that 10 to 20 year span. Arizin was great when he played but he wouldnt have been nearly as successful in today's game.

TribeManiac10 you are right. No players from the 40's through the 70's would be as successful in todays games.

The older players put the ball on the floor and played better man to man.

These knew guys want to showboat too much and see how good they look dunking the ball.

The old timers man to man would eat the boys of today for lunch.

too many guys today go brain dead too often.

There is no sense in debating the subject. Its not like there will be any definitive way of proving it one way or another.

Dwyane Wade was being interviewed on ESPN 540 in Milwaukee and was asked about the hate the Heat endured (via Sports Radio Interviews).

Obviously we went through a lot last year. It was unfair some of the stuff that we had to endure but we grew from it. That’s over with. We move on to whenever we play basketball again and we will be a different team….

“It was tough. I’ve went through tougher things because at the end of the day it’s the game of basketball. You find the joy in it and at the end of the day we had a good team.”

Barely beat bobcats thanks to Wade, but they will win it all this year for sure,I was hoping they would cancel the whole season, but I knew once the players started losing paychecks they would have whole new attitude.

The dunk by James was good--it hit off the guys head and came back out--two more point for the heat.

Screw lebron. Unbelievably talented but he makes it hard to cheer for him. Probably 2nd best player to ever play the game. Go Cavs!

Rings don't prove how good a player is, they prove how good a team is. I agree LeBron is the second best to ever play in the NBA.

Miami has not blown everybody out this year like I suspected they might, and Lebron is still playing lousy in crunch time, greatest players of all time don't do that,Lebron seems like deer in headlights when it gets down to crunchtime, they need Wade to have the ball when it gets iffy, but I'm sure Lebron will get one right eventually and I still think Miami will win it all because Dwayne Wade is one of the best of all time for sure

Lebron finished with 35 tonight and had a big fourth quarter but came up short against the nuggets.
