Thanks for the info on the Montreal minor league hockey team, but, I have heard the Habs refered to as the "Bleu,Blanc, and Rouge" as well.

Published 5 July 2006 (3 years ago) ... ; } MONTREAL - When the Hockey Hall of Fame announced their 2006 inductees, two men who wore the bleu- blanc-rouge were the only players to make the grade. Patrick Roy, the winningest goaltender in NHL history, was elected in his first year of eligibility with his equipment likely still damp from his playing days. Dick Duff, on the other hand, patiently waited 34 years for his long overdue Hall of Fame nod ...

Pens were 4 of 4 on the powerplay, while the Caps were 1 of 32 on the powerplay against the Habs.

Pittsburgh just threw the puck time and again on Halak like they were in a shooting gallery.

The Pens executed and the Habs didn't.

Still, this is the same Montreal team that was down 3-1 against Washington and came back to pull off a huge upset. This series is not over and is just starting.

Lift an ice-cold Iron City to the boys in black and gold!

Rumors are abound that Staal is out for the year with the tendon surgery he had after the skate injury last night. However,Coach Dan Bylsma said Jordan is day to day even though he most likely will miss the rest of this series. We desperately need Kennedy to get back in the line up soon. The puck drops a little after 2 Sunday afternoon for game two.

Kennedy and Leopold are game time decisions for Sunday's game. Minor league call up Letestu is expected to fill in for the injuries. He has played well for 10 games this season for the Pens. Hopefully, Staal will be back in the near future.

Markov of Montreal is out for Sunday's game.

Habs 3 Pens 1 :-D
PITTSBURGH (AP) -Michael Cammalleri scored two goals, Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves in a performance much like his series-stealing play during Montreal's first-round upset of Washington and the Canadiens surprised the Pittsburgh Penguins by winning 3-1 on Sunday.

Brian Gionta also scored as Montreal, playing without injured defenseman Andrei Markov, bounced back from a 6-3 loss in Game 1 and an early 1-0 Pittsburgh lead to even the Eastern Conference semifinal series at one game each.

Game 3 is Tuesday night in Montreal, followed by Game 4 on Thursday. The first playoff series between the teams since 1998 returns to Pittsburgh for Game 5 on Saturday.

Halak, pulled after allowing five goals on 20 shots in Game 1, made big save after big save as the Canadiens won despite being outshot 39-21. Sidney Crosby didn't score for the second successive game, and neither did Evgeni Malkin.

Congrats.. The Pens I think slept on their laurels after scoring so quickly today.I think they thought it was going to be as easy as Friday was.Give the Habs credit in fighting back.Game 3 is Tuesday night at 7 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

I agree!

Halak was pure gold. It seems putting him on the bench improves his play.

The Pens need to take it up a notch and Crosby needs to show Montreal why he led Canada to a gold medal.

Home ice is lost for the Pens. Win it back!

Pens 2 Habs 0

Pens take a 2-1 lead in the series. Halak continues to impress. Fleury does too.

Good night for the Burgh, Buccos win too. Its an Iron City night!

Nothing like a good beat down on the Broadstreet bullies but I didn't expect the Bruins to be up 3-0. I have to agree with Black Panther, they spent everything on beating the Devils.

You have our full respect now D5,not that I didn't give them credit already of course...Now,lets hope the Pens do as well...I think they let off the throtle again last night thinking the game was won.Fleury needs to stop giving up the odd goals like the first one last night...And Sid needs to step up!
