Reds are in final stages of making another trade. They are sending Travis Wood and 2 prospects to the Chicago Cubs for reliever Sean Marshall. Wood is under team control for 5 more years and Marshall will be a free agent after the 2012 season. I can understand the Latos trade but I think Jocketty has lost his mind

I believe in Jocketty but I really don't see the upside in this deal. We already have a LH specialist in Bill Bray, and thats basically what Marshall is.

Reds just signed catcher Brian Exposito to a minor league contract. The 32-year-old hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2010, and hit .197/.227/.255 in 168 plate appearances in the Astros' farm system this past season. Apparently works well with young catchers and serves as an extra coach lol.

Jocketty said that they are going to use him as a setup guy. Makes no sense since they have Bray but i'd have to imagine that if they can't re-sign Cordero or another free agent then they will definitely give him a shot.

They went after what they have needed, but they have mortgaged the future to do so. Gave up to much for Latos, and Marshall! Remember the Frank Robinson, or Josh Hamilton trades? It doesn't seem to matter who is the GM. I have respect for Jocketty, but daggone Walt, these guys garnered way to high a price.
