Grind it out win for the Pens. Even during the losing streak, the Pens are out hitting and out shooting the other teams. Just can't buy any goals and they have had a season's worth of shots off the pipes in the past 2 weeks.

Injuries are killing this team. Crosby, Staal, Latang and others. Our front liners have hardly played any games together this season but when they have they have been great.

I don't look for Crosby to come back until just before the playoffs, if the Pens make it. Last year the Rangers were the 8th and last team in the playoffs from the Eastern Conference with 93 points. That will be the cutoff point again this postseason.

Thursday night @ NY Rangers, friday back home against the Habs and then the Caps come calling. 3 tough games in a row. Winning 2 of 3 would be a huge shot in the arm for us.

Malkin has 17 goals and 17 assits since Crosby went out of the lineup and has been the best player in the NHL the past 2 months. He also leads the NHL in points.

Letang 1 goal, Malkin 1 goal and Neal 2 goals as Fleury makes 17 saves.

Pens travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues Tuesday night.

Pens slip into St. Louis and snatch a win from the Blues who have the best home ice record in the NHL. This was the Pens 7th straight win and their 4th OT game in the last 5.

Fleury was just great in the net. Sometimes your goalie gets you the win and Fleury did just that. He has started 16 of the last 17 games in the cage for the Pens and appeared in 22 straight games. He deserves a rest going into the All-Star break.

Malkin has a 6 game goal streak in progress with 9 goals and 13 points.

Neal has 6 goals and 5 assits in the last 7 games. He also tied his career best 27th goal of the season with his netter tonight.

Heading into the All-Star break here are some Pens stats...

Pens are 7th overall with 3.0 goals per game, 10th overall with 2.6 goals against, 12th overall with a powerplay percentage of 18.5 and 4th overall with a penalty kill percenatge of 87.5

Neal leads the team with 27 goals, Malkin has 32 assits and leads the +/- with a 12 and Fleury has a GAA of 2.25.

Pens return to the ice on January 31 when the Leafs invade the Burgh. The puck drops at 7.
