The CINCINNATI REDS baseball team and the TAMPA RAYS baseball team are both in playoff games today in different leagues.
The CINCINNATI BENGALS football team and the TAMPA BUCCANEERS football team played EACH OTHER today. Both Cincinnati team games are home games.
What are the odds of 2 cities' pro-sports teams in 2 different sports being in action on the same day?
Will the BENGALS loss at home affect the mindset of the crowd or the REDS team whose home game is set to start just a few hours later?

OK - I hate baseball and just call me stupid - but I just turned my TV to this game - and WHY are both teams dressed ALIKE - whitish clothes with red accents - so you can't tell the two teams apart? Doesn't baseball have different colored "home" and "away" uniforms like football and basketball so opposing teams LOOK DIFFERENT from each other?
I'm still FOR Cincinnati under any circumstances - but I hate baseball even more now. How stupid is it to have opposing teams dressed so similarly that the players can't be told apart at a glance visually?

Im guessing,they think the baseball teams know who they play for and will not make a mistake by throwing the ball to the wrong team by accident, like in football and basketball the game is so fast and there are so many players going at it so hard it would be hard to say who was who.......

I know thats not the reason, but thats the best I could come up with

not going to matter after tonight, the reds looked like the reds of old in all 3 post season games...but...lets remember they are young and this was a big step, even if they get swept,,they should be fun to watch again next season

When your 3-4-5 hitters go a combined 2-30 with 14 K's, you aren't going to win very many ball games.


Also, I thought Dusty Baker made some pretty stupid moves in the series. Number 1 is he should have never started Volquez in game 1. IMO he is still not completly healed from his injury. Should have went with Bronson or Wood in game 1. Hindsight might be 20-20 when after Wood came in he shut the Phils down that Baker should have started him, but he did pitch great when he did face the Phils this year, almost pitching a perfect game against them.


In the game last night, why did he move Bruce out of the 6 hole, where he has had huge success in the last month and put Hernandez there?

With virtually everyone coming back next year, Reds should be able to contend again fo the NL Central crown. Just can't let this sweep eat at them all year and carry it over into next season.

I Was at both the Bengals and Reds games last night and the Bengals loss did not have any impact on the Baseball game. Cincinnati showed last night that it is still a Baseball town. Seemed to me that everyone used the Bengals game as a warmup for the Reds game. Everyone in the stadium and everywhere in the town was talking about the Baseball game and this was a team that was down 0-2 in the NLDS. I gotta say, it was the most electric atmosphere I have ever been in, especially when Phillips got that hit to start off the 9th and they started playing Zombie Nation. I'm ready to go back next year.

I thought the Reds crowd was pretty lethargic up until the 9th inning. While watching, during most of the games you only had about a handful of fans waving their towels when the Phils were up. The other two games in Philadelphia, there whole stadium was waving the towels and booing everytime the Reds came to bat.

Like Tracy Jones said on WLW yesterday, different kind of fan base in Cincy than in Philly. The Philly fans acted like they belonged there, while the Reds fans acted like they were just gald to be there. Was not near as loud last night as it was the first two games.

I thought the fans were great. Seemed to me in the stadium everyone was waving their towels and being loud, especially on 3-2 counts. The air was kind of deflated out of the crowd in the very first inning when Cabrera tried to throw the ball 3 rows deep and you are getting it dealt to you by Hamels. I didn't see any Phillies fans going wild Friday night until the 6th when they were getting handled.

Even though this was a loss. That was the craziest atmosphere that I have ever been in my entire life. When those towels started waving, I truly think I teared up a little. I just hope I have the opportunity to be there for another playoff series, because there is no better atmosphere.

Exactly how I feel. I don't know what they were showing on TV for people to be saying that GABP wasnt fired up, because what I saw was 45,000 people in the game the whole way.
