Bucs 5 Astros 4

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Doumit gets the 3 run jack in the 8th to bring the Bucs from behind.

J-Mac goes 6+ and 0 earned runs. Bullpen is shakey as they can't hold the lead. Getting a little worried about the pen.

Bucs take another series 2-1. Bucs are .500 on Mothers Day for the first time since 2002.

Dodgers coming to town for a 4 game set starting Monday. Looking for another series win.

Bucs 4 Dodgers 1

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Dodgers get a early run in the first, but Bucco pitching shuts them out the rest of the way to go above .500.

Neil Walker gets the winning RBI with a double in the 8th as the Bucs plate 3 for the final count.

Hanrahan gets his 11th save.

Correia takes the hill for the Bucs in game 2.

Bucs 5 Reds 0

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!! (I was beginning to wonder if we had lost the flag)

Bucs end a 6 game skid as Morton goes the distance with a complete game shutout.

Bucs played long ball with a 3 run HR by Alavarez and a 2 run knock by McCutchen.

Lets hope the Bucco bats are starting to come to life.

J-Mac takes the mound in the second game of the 2 game set.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

Braves 2 Bucs 0 game 1

Braves 4 Bucs 2 game 2

We can't hit our way out of a wet paper bag.

Pitching has been great. Defense average. Hitting is terrible.

If it looks like a 500 season is not in the making, I look for other teams in dire need of pitching for a playoff run to make offers for Correia, Morton, Maholm, Vergas and Hanrahan. I would hate that to happen but it is only a matter of time before the pitching staff becomes fed up with the lack of run support.

Bucs start a 3 games series vs the Cubs @ Wrigley. Bucs took 2 of 3 in Chicago in the season opening series.

Bucs 4 Cubs 2 game 1

Bucs 10 Cubs 0 game 2

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Buccos break out the "long nines" as they provide Maholm with plenty of run support with 10 runs, 10 hits and 4 of those were homers. Maholm gets the complete game win as he allows only 3 hits, 4 Ks and 0 BB. The Bucs had only given him 13 runs in his last 10 games on the mound.

The Pirates will breakout the brooms as they go for the sweep in Wrigleyville on Sunday.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

Cubs 3 Pirates 2

Karstans pitched well for the Bucs, 7 hits, 3 runs, 4 Ks and 0 BB, for a win but the Bucco bats feel silent with 2 runs on 5 hits.

Folks, the pitching is there. Sadly, the offense isn't. A lot of teams would like to have the Pirates effective and cheap staff of pitchers.

We took 2 of 3 in Wrigley so that isn't bad. Could have easily been a 3 game sweep if there had been some offense.

Next up, 4 game set in NY vs the Mets.

LETS GO BUCS!!!

Mets 7 Bucs 3 game 1

Bucs 5 Mets 1 game 2

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Bucs bouce back in game 2 behind J-Mac as they get timely hitting in the 8th to erase the Mets 1-0 lead.

Veras pitches a perfect 8th and Hanrahan a perfect 9th to close it out.

Pirate starting pitching has now pitched 12 straight games allowing 2 earned runs or less in each game. Outstanding pitching.

Now to work on the offense and get it up to speed, we could easily be a 500 squad.

Game 3 tomorrow - LETS GO BUCS!!!

Pirate starting pitchers extend their MLB best streak to 13 straight starts of allowing 2 runs our less.

Bucco starter Kevin Correia leads all MLB pitchers as he gets his 8th win of the year. (8-4).

Bucs get their 17th road win of the year. Last year's road record was 17-64.

Bucs have won 6 of their last 7 road series this year and have won 7 of 10 on the season. They are 4-2 on this road trip with 1 game left.

Bucs send "hard luck" Maholm to the mound today. Paul is 2-7 but has a very good ERA of 3.18. Bucco bats have been silent this year when he pitches. Hopefully, there are still some hits let in the Pirate bat rack after last nights game.

Can't believe they blew the lead either. Bummer.

Still, a 4-3 road trip that had 1 series win, a series split, recorded our 17th road win of the season which matches last year's road win total and included the Pirates getting their 9,600 win as a franchsie.

Pittsburgh's overall MLB record now stands at 9,600-9,417.

Phillies come to town for a weekend series. Need to take 2 of 3 from them.

Pirates 2 Phillies 1 F/12

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Tabatha gets the walkoff single in the both of the 12th as the Buccos win on a night that pitchers rule.

Bucs send Morton to the mound in game 2 vs their Keystone State rivals.
