I expect another pitching duel as Burnett is pitching lights out. Bucs have never faced Ross and we are struggling to score runs.

Win streak at 8 games for the Buccos and the Cards have dropped 2 in a row. Only 4 back of the front running Red Birds.

The Pirates sweep the padres in a three games series this week.They've moved within 4.5 of st louis in the central.

Bucs take 3 of 4 from the Cards and the last 2 were walkoffs in extra innings.

At the All-Star break the Buccos are 2.5 back of the Cards who own the best record in baseball. 3 weeks ago we were 9 games back. The Pirates have the 3rd best record in baseball behind the Cards and Royals.

Cards have the #1 pitching staff in MLB and Pittsburgh has the #2 staff.

4 days off and then on to Milwaukee to start a 3 game set vs the Brewers and then on to KC for a 3 game set vs the Royals. Bucs play 12 out of 16 on the road to start the 2nd half of the season.

An extra portion of rum to toast a fine 1st half to the season. However, beware of scallywags at every port.

Time to reload provisions on the Queens Anne's Revenge and make sail for Buctober with the ghost of Blackbeard himself.
