I don't know if we are watching the same Reds or not? They are very young. Rolen is not a castoff. The dude can play. He can hit and he is a very good 3rd baseman!!!

The Steelers have the "terrible towel". I wonder if the Reds could come up with their own version? Of course it would have a whole lot different meaning than the Steeler's towel.

It's looking like Lehr's going to throw a complete game. . . if we could beat out Pittsburgh and Houston and win even 70 games, I'd be ok.
Gotta get rid of Harang after this year, though. . . Cueto and Volquez are looking like the future.
Re: '09 Reds
Great story for Lehr. . . complete game, 4-hitter. . . got the pies in the face after the game. If he keeps this up, we could use a guy like him next year. . . . excellent control - he put the ball wherever he wanted.
Touching. . .

Scottie provides a decent bat and one of the best gloves in the game.
His most important attribute may be his help in the locker room. How can you not respect his leadership qualities?

I never said I didn't. . . this is the first time I've gotten the chance to see him play in a Reds' uniform and I must say I was impressed. I think it was a good trade. They had to get rid of Encarnacion; they couldn't afford to keep cutting him slack.

As much as I like DeRosa I'd rather have Scottie.
Scottie is from Jasper Indiana (an hour drive from Cincy) and was a Red's fan as a kid....as well as a basketball player who was offered some schollies....of course.....he's from Indiana.
He really wants to be here.
