It would be but I don't think they NEED him. They have more pitching Depth than they have had in 30 years...If the Reds don't make a single move they will still win the Central.
Bringing in Lee would almost gurantee a shot in october.
They should send Harang, bailey and 2 prospects for him. which i seen earlier on espn is what seattle was wanting. plus we have history with Seattle bringing in Kenny!!!!!LOL
When your a closer and have a two run lead it is a sin to walk a batter and put the tying run at the plate. How many times have we watched Coco do this.
Especially the batter he walked. He pitched to this garbage hitter like he was pitching to Puhols.. Even if it led directly to the Reds not making the playoffs, I don't care if I ever(and hope i never) see Codero pitch again. That being said I will be at Citizens Bank Park( in Philadelphia) tomorrow and Sunday rooting for my beloved Redlegs. I just pray they don't have to bring Cordero in. If so i think i will just get up at that point and leave rather than watch him. Thats something I have never done is leave a game before its over regardless of how bad or lopsided either way. Sorry for the rant.
Since the Reds didn't get Lee rumor has it they might go after Oswalt or Haren. I hope they don't. That will tie up to much money for the next couple of years. They can wait until the end of the season after Harangs contract is up and see what free agency brings. I would bring back Arroyo. The problem is not with the starters it is within the bullpen, and there is not really anyone available at this time. Maybe it might be a good time to see what Chapman might bring. Not sure about that though. I am just sayin. Anything at this point might be better than the circus that Cordero brings nightly! It's outings like tonight that might bring the rest of the attitudes down with him. Again I'm just sayin!
Codero!!!lol Something has got to be done!!! Its not the first time this season, "CHAPMAN " Maybe its time to give the kid a shot,Leake pitch good for a rookie.Wood is also doing good. dam they got to make some kind of move.
Maybe the Reds will trade Harang before the deadline; hell, throw in Cordero too. Harang and Cordero for a few gallons of Gatorade and a case of sunflower seeds.
I like how after lead off doubles in two different innings, Baker had the next guy bunt the runner to third. I just wish he would have had someone pinch hit for Hanigan, the second time anyway. Hanigan was a good hitter before he went on the DL, but they had to rush him back to give Miller some help, his hitting is not back yet. I wouldn't have been afraid to bat Leake, not only is he one of the better hitters, but he can also lay a bunt down. In that game one run is all it took. I would have stayed with Bray at the end,why turn Rollins around to his power side. Bray got the next two outs, he sure leaves Cordero in way too long. It is a shame Woods pitches a one hitter and they can't get him a win.
Game time GO REDS!!! 4ever!!! Masset is terrible!!! sorry Wood has a no hitter into the 8th just makes me sick, pitch one hell of a game!!!remember 2 years ago I watched the bottom fall out and still kept following the REDS!!! Must win today going into the break.
I say the Reds have peaked. They have a ways to go, before they can be called a championship team. I mean, championship caliber teams find ways to score runners from 3rd with just 1 out(not once, but twice). Then in todays game, bases loaded and no outs and NOTHING to show for it. That's terrible.
Jay Bruce seems to be a great kid. From what I understand he is a hard worker and a good teammate. He is an outstanding outfielder already with an incredible and accurate arm who is a plus plus defender. Good baserunner and aggressive. But he has two potential fatal flaws as a hitter, and you have to be shocked that that these people are not addressing this and getting this fixed. First of all,he gets set and ready in the box WAY WAY WAY too early. I timed him one time and he was ready and waiting six seconds before the pitcher released it. Anyone who knows anything about hitting knows that the longer you sit in there and wait to get loaded problems set in. Tension,anxiousness...etc,...The second problem he has is that his swing is way too long and sweeping. He has to shorten up and get quicker through the zone.If he doesnt, he will continually get worse. I like the kid and he is huge to the Reds chances this year and in the future if the can get him fixed at the dish.
I'm just glad were at that break !!! To get there heads together ,And about Wood you can't sent him back down Guess thats why Jocketty gets paid the big money. GO REDS.
