BOSTON (AP) -Patrice Bergeron's goal with 52 seconds left in regulation helped the Bruins avoid a historic third straight shutout, but Michael Cammalleri scored in the shootout to give the Montreal Canadiens a 2-1 victory over Boston on Thursday night.

Kings 5 Pens 2

Pittsburgh drops it's first road game of the year - you can't win them all. On to San Jose and the shark tank.

Pens finally get back on the winning track with 2 in a row after dropping 4 straight. Even the defending champs have bad nights when everyone is bringing their "A" game against you.

Injuries have hurt. Goligoski is out 2-3 weeks. Talbot should be back Thursday for the first time this year.

Another road trip for the Pens @ Ottawa, Nashville and Florida. Lets make it a winning trip.

Pens still tied for the top spot in the East with the Devils and Caps. But we proved that to win the Cup doesn't require you to be the regular season's best team, just the best team in the playoffs.

Pens 3 Habs 1

This was Montreal's last regular season visit to Mellon Arena

The Burgh has the most wins in the NHl this season with 17 and have set a new team record with the most wins in the first 25 games. The Pens have bounced back nicely following a four game sskid as they have now won 5 out of the last 6. This game was the first of 3 games in 4 days. Friday @ the Islanders and saturday home vs the Rangers.

The Habs record in Pittsburgh's Mellon (Civic) Arena since it opened in 1967 is 45-33-14.

Islanders 3 Pens 2

Pens give up 2 goals in the 3rd as the Isles pull it out. Pens head right back to the Burgh to host the Rangers on saturday and then go right back to NY to play the Rangers on monday. Crazy schedules in the NHL.

Pens 8 Rangers 3

Hat night in the Burgh as 16,000 hats are handed out and nearly all of them are thrown on the ice when Sid gets the hat trick!

Twice in the game the Pens score back to back goals in under a minute.

Injuried players are starting to come back and the Pens appear to be hitting again on all 8 cyclinders.

Back to NY for a monday game against the Rangers.

Pens 5 Rangers 2

HOLY COW!!! Pens get another hat trick! Two games in a row!

3rd line winger Mike Rupp goes off on the Rangers and gets his first career hat trick. Ranger's goalie Lundquist doesn't know whether to cry or wind his watch.

Crack open an ice cold Iron City and toast the 3rd line players!

Ovechkin gets a 2 game suspension for leading with his knee and taking out Carolina's defenseman Tim Gleason with a knee to knee hit. Ovechkin got the worst of it as Gleason came back into the game before the end of the 5 minute penalty and Ovechkin missed the rest of the game.

Ovechkin may play hard but he plays dirty at times. Glad to see him get the short end of the stick on this one.

Pens 4 Avalanche 1

Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building!

Pens score 3 in the 3rd as they out shoot Colorado 33 to 16 and the Pens are the first NHL team to reach 20 wins for the year.

Crosby has 2 goals and 1 asst.

Chicago comes to the Burgh this weekend so stock up the coolers with some Iron City.

Pens 6 Flyers 1

Pens score their first goal 3 1/2 minutes into the game. Pens score early and often. They smoked em like a cheap cigar!

3 fights in the first 5 1/2 minutes of the game. Hockey at it's best!

Pens get a rare powerplay goal and 2 short handed goals. Pens have won 3 in a row and lead the Eastern conference.

These 2 meet up again in Philtydelphia on thursday. I wonder who will be on the fight card?
