Posters on here have attempted to try to prove that James is the best ever by citing his stats over, say Kobe. Stats dont win crapola! The year Wilt averaged 50 ppg, the Celtics were the World Champs.

It is all about the rings, and nothing else matters. If James scores 40,000 pts and doesnt win a ring, he will be Charles Barkley or Karl Malone; long on talent, short on winning.

BTW...in this less than stellar season for the Miami Choke Machine, their record has been accomplished by going 29-2 against less than .500 teams; none of whom will be in the playoffs.
Stats don't win anything, and neither do individual players. TEAMS WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. I will always consider Malone and Barkely great players. Just because they didn't win championships doesn't take away from what they contributed to their team. To try to say right now that the Miami Heat will or will not win an NBA Championship is impossible. We don't know how they will respond to the adversity they are facing. It might make them fold under the pressure and collapse from within, or it might make them angry to the point where they start winning. I can only speak for myself, but if I was on the Miami Heat right now, the next game I would feel like taking someone's head off. It is truly the Heat against the World right now and the World is showing no mercy.

One thing is for sure, people are taking their jabs and pokes and kicks at Miami right now. Those who are doing so though right now are putting their eggs in one basket. They are basically going under the asumption that the Heat will not recover from what has transpired over the last several games and that LeBron/Wade/Bosh will never learn how to play together. If they do recover by playoff time and win an NBA Championship, the critics and general arses who just want to hate the Heat because it's something to do will look very bad.

More interesting Miami Heat stats...

they are 1-9 vs teams that have a winning percentage of .700 and up.

In games that are decided by 3 points or less (2-8) they are shooting a dismal 1-18 in their last possesion. The only basket they made was a James dunk.

They have to go 18-1 to finish with the same record the Cavs had LAST year!

Cavs are 2-3 in last five. Heat are 0-5!

You cant make this stuff up!
Again, you're comparing apples to oranges.

More like comparing prunes to raisins.

One thing is the Cavs are having fun playing basketball and the Heat are having a hard time dealing with losing.Would be something if the Heat loses all or almost all the upcoming games to teams over 500. Since the bring in Bibby and takes away late game playing time away from Eddie House who is a very clutch shooter. As well as leaving the 3pt shooting winner on the bench.

No matter what types of fruit you want to compare or not compare the Heat to most fruits when you add heat to soon spoil.

Heat 2-0 on the season versus the Lakers. Looks like it was KOBE who choked down the stretch.........

Sorry that was the EL HEAT they had to change their name to win. The Lakers did not play well down the stretch. Wade chokes a ball out of bounds then Kobe throws up a long shot. Now if the Heat can win another game against another team with a winning record.

Even if the Heat wins another game vs a team with a record at or above 500, the Heat will still have a losing record against winning teams.

By far the best win of the season for the Heat tonight vs. San Antonio. The way for them to win is with defense and transition opportunities, and they were executing well in both departments tonight.

BTW- 3 wins in a row for the Heat, all against quality teams. Just thought I would brag about that since nobody wants to acknowledge the positive with this team.

Even with 3 straight wins, the Heat's record in the last 10 games is 4-6 and they still have a losing record (17-18) vs teams with a .500+ record.

I do think they will win Wednesday's game vs the Thunder since it will be Miami's 6th straight game at home and they won the earlier game in Oklahoma.

If you watch any pro sports, I guess you worship egomaniacs. Ever since free agency started this has been true. if this had been Larry Bird leaving the Celtics for another team, no problems. Ive never been a fan of Lebron, even in high school, when all of you were enamored. However, I am a fan of a guy getting to choose where he wants to live, where he wants to work and who he wants to work with. EVERY person on Earth would do the same if he/she had the opportunity.

The Heat lose a good game to the Thunder last night. Perkins puts that Thunder team on a different level in the West, like I said before ,I pick the Thunder to come out of the West.

Only thing Bird would eat on the court against either one of those guys (James,Howard) would be the ball. :122249

I never said the NBA didnt come around untill LBJ. Its just better to watch because players are so much better. They are bigger, faster, stronger than the players from back in the day. Rings have nothing to do with how good a player is.All that tells you is how good the team was. Barkley never won a ring but Luke Walton has. Does that make Luke better? NO!!!!!!!!!. Rings dont matter.

I never said that I didnt acknowledge those guys. But compared to the players of today ( Kobe, LeBron, Howard, Wade) their just not up to par. Yes those guys are all time greats and they did make the foundation of todays NBA, but they are not as gifted as todays NBA players. All of those guys records that you say are better than todays players will be broke (with the exception of Russell's rings) because the player in the NBA now are way more gifted than the players of the past. For example Rondo will break every assist record if he stays healthy. Ray Allen just broke the record for all time made 3's. LeBron has broke every scoring record so far expect most all time points but he will break that if he stays healthy. Look at Kevin Love he is crushing rebounding records and he has only been in the NBA for 2 years and is 6'8. That is just a few examples that show that todays NBA players are better.

It's impossible to compare players from different eras
