2021 Cincinnati Reds
Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
The Reds have the rare opportunity to go from first place to last place in the NL central in a period of just four days.

Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
I was wrong. It took the Reds 5 days to go from first to last. 6 losses in a row. Poor defense and poor hitting always squanders decent starting pitching. The Reds with one more game in St. louis and three in LA to complete the road trip could be starring at 10 straight losses before return home. Still better than no baseball.

Poor Reds! I don't know what to think. Up then going down already. But, GO REDS! Hope they swing it back the other way quickly.
Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
This coach is a trip !!!when you have a player batting 141 and that high in the lineup and won't make changes I question fire the coach.
Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
You always have to be happy with a win that ends a losing streak, but the problems remain:
On only one effective starting pitcher to date (Mahle).
Only one effective relief pitcher to date (Antonne).
Poor defense.
Inconsistent hitting. The so called "power" part of the lineup batting collectively below the Mendoza line (Suarez,Votto)
Weak bench.
A manager who seems to make decisions based on analytics and a love of the double switches rather than the actual flow of a game.
A front office simply unwilling and/or incapable of addressing the team's needs at shortstop and in pitching.
In other words, the dear old Reds playing bad baseball but baseball no less with fans in the stands. What is not to like?

Agree. Good win for the Reds. They needed that to hopefully get things going in the right direction. GO REDS!!Geronimo wrote: Tue Apr 27, 2021 8:31 am A rare win over the Dodgers on the coast makes a body feel good.

Just glad baseball is back !!! Looks like a wild run in this division this year .
Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
Two out of three from the Cubbies. Home runs, good pitching once a week, and bench clearing brawls. What is not too like? They are 13-14 and 3.5 games behind Milwaukee, good for third place in the division. They are not contenders, but they are also not boring.

not a reds fan.......but you say not contenders........? it's there alright......reds have the tools that's needed for the most part......just catch bad breaks........it will come around for them sometime.........when.......who knows..........

Re: 2021 Cincinnati Reds
They are capable of 10 or more wins in a row as well as 10 straight losses. Plus anything in between. My biggest fear is the Reds ownership may conduct a fire sale of players come the trading deadline. Simply said they are cheap.9.5 INCHES wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 5:15 pm not a reds fan.......but you say not contenders........? it's there alright......reds have the tools that's needed for the most part......just catch bad breaks........it will come around for them sometime.........when.......who knows....................

Shutout by the ChiSox 9-0.
As of 5-4-21, the Reds team ERA is 5.11, ranking them the 28th worst pitching staff in MLB.
