He got his hiney kicked by a big white guy in one of his underground fights a few years ago. He's tough no doubt but he can be whooped.

When he is in thew octagon with a real fighter and not a washed up has been or never was then we will see how good he is in this sport.

Put him up against Fedor, he would not last 2 minutes into the first round.

A good UFC fighter will destroy him. He needs a lot of work before he challenges the big timers. Arlovski or Gonzaga would have their ways with him. I am not even going to get into what someone like Fedor or Couture would do to him. Fighting Tank Abbott is not a good gauge.

kimbo has been training pretty hardcore for sometime now. I think he would his hold his own in the UFC heavyweight division. I would pick him over Brock.

guys the dude has never beat a top 20 type mixed martial artist in his life ---hold the praise ! Is he a great street fighter ? Yep ---but MMA ain't a brawl. Geez , some people are so uneducated about MMA. Brock with wrestling background would dominate Kimbo. MD PS I did'nt mean you Matt !

Lesnar-Kimbo now that might be worth the ppv price. It would also prove a big step up the ladder for either man.

I think Kimbo will be fighting Saturday Night on CBS for the world to watch. Should be an interesting fight if you have never seen the man throw down tune in to this one.

He is fighting a below average fighter and this like his last fight will show nothing.

Why does everyone always say he doesnt fight anyone.... He is still a rookie in MMA himself. He was a street fighter and this is new for him tonight. He like all others who start something new are trying to build his game up. Give him two or three fights and then you can say he still isnt fighting anyone. Kimbo is Huge for MMA and he is drawing people who wouldnt usually watch MMA to the sport. They dont want him to get knocked off early because that would hurt them viewer wise. I would like to see Kimbo in the Cage soon and hope he isnt another Tito. It will be interesting when someone takes him to the ground to see how he reacts.

We know he is a newcomer, but the thread was started by stating "nobody will beat the dude." Until he actually steps up and takes on a good fighter, that can't be said. Tank Abbott was above average in his best days, and his best days were years ago. Kimbo needs to speak up and take on a worthy opponent, and until then will aways be subject to criticism.

And what demographic does Kimbo bring to the viewing table that isn't already there?

Well as you read through the post you will see that I never posted in here about Kimbo being unbeatable. I think Kimbo has potencial and might be better off in Boxing which is a sport that is fading to UFC. The man throws some hard punches and I think they stopped the fight to early tonight. He seemed to be out of shape and like he stated, he is knew to this and has some work to do. Im sure if you started fighting you wouldnt want to go against Chuck Liddell. :122249 Here is Mike Tyson's first 4 fights.
Mar. 6 -- Hector Mercedes, Albany, N.Y., TKO 1 ... Hector ended his career at 0-5
Apr. 10 -- Trent Singleton, Albany, N.Y., TKO 1.... Trent ended his career at 1-4
May 23 -- Don Halpern, Albany, N.Y., KO 4.... Don lasted 4 rounds with Mike, Highlight of his career
June 20 -- Rick Spain, Atlantic City, N.J., KO 1.... 2-23 with one draw, Mike Tyson was his 25th fight of his career.

I am not comparing Kimbo to Mike Tyson, just saying that you have to start some where and build your way up. Kimbo is very beatable and needs a lot of work. Kimbo is a 34 year old rookie to MMA. I love UFC but didnt pay much attension to MMA until Kimbo started fighting. Kimbo has potencial now its up to him if he wants to be a legend or just another wannabe.

* P.S. Mike Tyson would have had a full course meal with that ear of Kimbo's opponent!

NEWARK, N.J. – Complete results of Elite XC’s Saturday Night Fights from the Prudential Center:

Heavyweights: Kimbo Slice (3-0) def. James Thompson (16-9)
How: TKO, 0:48 round three
Key moment: Kimbo made his first punch of the third round count, a wild haymaker that opened a horrible cut on Thompson’s left ear.
Analysis: Kimbo came out victorious but sure showed he has a long way to go before he can be considered a real heavyweight threat. Kimbo struggled through much of the first round, getting put onto the mat several times, but demonstrated some skill in getting back to his feet. Kimbo wobbled Thompson with a couple uppercuts in the second, but later found himself on the wrong end of a series of elbows on the ground. In the third, Kimbo connected on a home run of a punch that cut Thompson open. He then followed up with a punishing exchange. The crowd was not happy the fight was stopped, but Thompson was wobbling and was clearly a punch or two away from being put out.
