Re: Browns firings
The worst thing to happen to the Browns was last year's 10-6 record. It hid the fact the Browns were still terrible and not likely to get better. This cost us another year of wasted draft picks, worthless free agents and put the franchise back five years. These Clowns won't be in position to win now for another three or four years at the best. I love the Browns but I hate them, too. We haven't had a good owner since before Modell. Can we fire Lerner? Maybe Cleveland could take over the team and run it like Green Bay does with the Packers.

Break the bank, give the keys to the front office, turnover complete control and bring in Bill Parcells from Miami. He is the only logical choice. This guy understands professional football and can turn a franchise around.

When I saw on ESPN's site lastnight that Parcells was going to become potentially a 'free agent', I thought man this would be great for Cleveland. He really does know his football and look at what hapened with Miami this season. Maybe that could be Cleveland next year. With that said, I dont look for Parcells to leave Miami so soon.
As for coaching, I saw where there was a report that Cowher was not going to take the job. Why not offer it to probably the next best candidate in Marty?
I also saw where they were looking that Scott Pioli from NE's front office as the new GM.

BTW...Modell is on the Hall of Fame nominee ballot this year as a contributor. There is a large part of me that wants to see him get in just to see if he shows his face in Canton for his acceptance speech or if he mails it in. I'd like to be there to see the reaction he would get....even the mention of his name.
Canton is not a big enough city to hold all the Browns fans who would want to show up for that one.
Re: Browns firings
As a life-long Browns fan, I am still awaiting the return of the Browns to Cleveland.
I know there is a team called the Browns that plays in Cleveland, but it isn't the real Browns. While I was happy to see the NFL keep the Browns colors and history and pass it on to the new team, I still will not wear my Browns jacket etc. I cannot get very excited about them, nor do I go out of my way to watch one of their games like I did years ago.
And I am sorry to say that Modell does deserve a place in the Hall of Fame. He worked very hard at making the NFL a better league, helping to make Monday Night Football an American institution, getting other NFL owners to merge with the AFL etc. I won't cheer him or boo him, I will just ignore his speech if he makes one.

Whatever qualifications he may have for induction, to me were given up when he showed his true character or lack thereof. Isn't a part of the hall about having character and integrity. I think they hold Rose to those requirements. The fans should have a part of that vote.

Re: Browns firings
A new coach and a new GM-------- That adds 4 more wins right there. Now get that QB thing worked out and thats 1 or 2 more wins!!!
