The man who scored the first touchdown in last years superbowl, Running back Gary russell is now a bengal.
This will help the bengals with more depth at running back. (If you build it ,they will come)

Russell was the best between-the-tackles back Pittsburgh had last year. . . Hopefully Mendenhall will be able to bounce back and assume the role. Good get by the Bengals.

The Steelers will replace him. They draft or trade with the best of 'em (D@#*n it!).

The thing is, he was a role player and darn good one in Pittsburgh, but he will expected to do way more in Cincinnati which = trouble.Sorry,Russell will be no quick fix at RB for the Bengals. And Bengal role players are different than Steeler role players.

Russell was a man playing with boys back in high school and if he has his off the field life straightened out I think he will be a big help for Cincy.

Beanie is a beast, and has great speed for his size, but there is NO WAY he ran a 4.3 forty. 4.45-4.5 i can see, but he didnt run a 4.3

If you can see a 4.45, then you should easily see a 4.34.
Most NFL scouts see the indoor track at the Woody Hayes Center as
adding a full tenth of a second to a guys time.
At the Buckeye Pro Day Beanie ran a 4.34 on the WHAC indoor track.
This translates to a 4.4 on most other running surfaces.

Losing Russell is not a big deal for the Steelers, they have Fast Willie and Mendenhall. Russell was a hard-nosed runner but never got a real shot at Pittsburgh. I hope he does well with Cincinnati in 14 games a year.

The Bengals need more than Pittsburghs 4th string running back to beat the Steelers!!!

Keep dreamin' Cincy fans!

I can go there because the browns have been around twice as long as cinci and there rap sheet is 4 fold longer than cinci . and they also never sold drugs to kids . There are losers.

B. The Browns HAVE NOT been around twice as long...unless our 55 year history is twice as long as the Bengals 39 year history.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel. Two losers arguing over which losing team is the biggest loser. I'll still put our 4 NFL championships up against all of the NFL championships Cincinnati has ever won. Oh wait, I forgot. Our NFL championships arent the same as the NFL championships of today because some promoter looked for a way to hype a game that wasnt selling out and came up with Super Bowl. Ive got news for you....the Super Bowl champion is nothing more or less than NFL champions. Semantics 101

If an NFL championship banner you want to see,
You cannot go to Cincinnati.
But take a trip to that Lake Erie shore,
and there you'll see not one banner but FOUR!

-Steve Ebert

That was only like a divison win back then . and if cinci would have had a team then . They would have had less . No superbowls. Never been tough enough to get there . never will.
I heard they making a movie. death race 2009.

Less teams ALWAYS means the talent pool is stronger. More teams means the talent pool is more diluted. You really have no sense of history to suggest that 80% of the HOFers are there because they played in a weaker era. You either won your conference or you were out in the cold. NOW, you can sneak in as one of 12 teams in the playoffs and if you catch lightning in a bottle for 2-3 games you are in business.

One of the recent Steeler Super Bowl winners was a wild card team that played every game on the road. The diluted playoff system renders the 16 game regular season impotent in that with so few games often tie breakers are used to see who gets in and who doesnt. Finally with fewer teams there were fewer "patsies" that guaranteed automatic wins.

I dont know why I waste my time on you. You simply refuse to believe the truth. Your next tour throught the HOF in Canton shouldnt take long at all. You can just race right by all exhibits of teams and championships won before the Super Bowl. BTW, the Browns WON their 4 NFL championships. The Bengals lost both of theirs.

Hey 4ever, I think we did lose one to the Lions back in the fifties.
