2010-2011 NBA Finals

This is a rematch of the 2006 finals which saw the Heat take home the gold after going down 2-0 in the best of 7 series. Dirk and the Mavs this season have one of the best put together rosters in all of basketball. Their outside game is excellent with shooters such as Jason Terry, Peja Stojakovic, and Dirk Nowitzki and they are led by veterans who are hungry for their first ring including Jason Kidd and the three previously mentioned players. While the Mavs have a great team, I am still going with the Miami Heat in 6 or 7 games. They seem to be clicking on both sides of the ball and I dont see anything getting in the way of them igniting in this series what could end up being the NBA's next great dynasty. This series could go either way and it should be exciting to watch.

Who do you have winning it and why?

Go Mavs, I don't even want to think of the Heat winning this thing. The NBA say's they've lost around $300 million or so this year. Wonder why ? No one even watches until about this time every year (so much for TV revenue) and the only one's who can afford to pack the arenas nightly are the players, their families and the big money donor people. I'll take the lesser of two evils by picking the Mavs.

I'll be glad when the NBA Finals are over...SportsCenter is even worse during the NBA playoffs than it is during the regular season. You can purposely not watch the games and still see almost every scoring possession, with analysis, on SportsCenter.

Not that I care, but I hope Dallas wins it and makes LeBron wait 1 more year before he gets his first ring and then maybe he will appreciate it more.

Dallas standing around too much. Didn't it seem like back in the "0ld Days" all 5 player's participated at the same time during the possessions and it was a better game or is it just me. They want to say all these guys played hard for 45 or 48 minutes of the game but for half that time they just stand around waiting for a pick or a lane to open up so they can drive and get fouled and/or put up bricks with no idea of going for an offensive rebound. On defense they let someone take 3 giant steps (sometimes 3 1/2 without a call)to get to the lane and dunk on them without even putting up a hand or anything. They can fall down with the ball, double dribble along with a couple of stutter steps in between then go up with nowhere to go, run into someone, get a foul called (when it should be a charge), take two more steps toward the basket, release the ball and when it goes in, it's called continuation and one. I wouldn't pay a dime to see an NBA game in person nowadays. JMO

If Miami continues to run that semi-triangle offense with Bosh in the pivot using motion and ball movement they are gonna be very hard to beat especially when they are playing good team d and LBJ and Wade are rebounding like they did last night. Finally Lebron is in an offensive system with some motion and cutting. With time together the Heat are only gonna get better and even though they are playing well right now, their offense is still only at about 60% imo, mainly because it took them until February to start running a halfcourt set that showcases their talents but utilizes all 5 players on the court.

MIA will run the NBA for at least the next 5 to 6 years.

It dont matter where the other FA's go. The Heat made it to the finals their first year together and could win it all and they will only get better. The Heat will win 4 to 5 rings you can take that to the bank. So you must not have any respect for the NBA cause you said the Heat would not contend for a ring this year. Lebron is and will be the best player in the NBA for at least the next 6 to 8 years and D. Wade is a top 5 player in the NBA and no other team will be able to get two guys on a team as good as them. The only way it would happen is if Howard goes to the Bulls but he wants to stay with the Magic. Times have changed it not the NBA of the 60's 70's and 80's anymore. Players are better and faster and stronger you have to make power teams if you want a ring in todays NBA.

2nd game is underway. The Heat and Mavs are tied at 51 at halftime. Wade is having a great game.

The reason I haven't watched a complete NBA game in the last 23 years is the officiating. For example tonight D. Wade gives a 5 minute rant to one of the officials and no T is called. Rick Carlise said LeBron threw an elbow and gets a T. You would think after the NBA had one official go to prison, that they would clean the officiating up.

Worst 5 mins the Heat have played this entire postseason. They deserved to lose after that lackluster performance.

Miami should win it with the cast of "million dollar babies" they have on the team but 4 or 5 years in a row, please give me a break. This is no dynasty. Do they have the player's with ability to do it, yes. Today's society dictates the win at all cost mentality and these pro athletes (any sport) don't stay around each other on the same team for 4 or 5 years before they opt out, are traded, etc. Hell, I really believe some of them don't even care if they win anymore (after they get that first title). They just go to the highest bidder when free agency comes around. I'll never come close to making that kind of money but I'd rather stay on a good team making a few dollars less (what's the difference between $12 mil or $16 mil a year) than play on a mediocre team that will never win but that's just me. Anyway, I was thinking after Wade played so well tonight and LeBron spending half the 2nd half giving fist pumps, yells and boxing lessons to the crowd when they were up big, they went into a quick nose drive and by the time reality set in, Dallas had the win. Dirk came up big at the end but the others will have to step up at home to get them over the hump. Go underdogs, Go Mavs !!!!!

These NBA teams all have a playground mentality at all times anymore. It cracks me up at the end of games when the players say:
"My teammates had confidence in me and coach told me to keep shooting" and that's what I did. If i'm paying you $15 million a year you oughta make a few shots but for every hero in these championship games that does that, there are the rest of the teams sitting at home, all with probably 2 of these $10-$15 million player's probably laughing there a_ _ off when they watch this stuff on TV.
