There were about twenty other players that had outstanding stats. I think it would be impossible to try and pick just four players all time. It would be hard to pick five players at each position.

No love for Bill Russell?

Back to back high school state titles.

Back to back NCAA titles.

NBA title his rookie year.

NBA title his last year.

And 9 NBA titles in between.

Etch that in stone.

A lot of people say Jordan is better than James because he has more titles ..........well if you look at it like that Russell is better than Jordan

Russell is the only player that could put the clamps on Wilt

I don't care for the Rushmore analogy. If we were carving the real Rushmore today, would you put TR on it? Would you stop at three? Well?

OMG I have Rick Barry on Mt.Rushmore  Ahh heck he might as well be up there just for that wild free throw style alone.

Bill Russell never put the clamps on Wilt. In their head to head matchups Wilt always outdid Russell. Russell simply had the better team.

LeBron is a great player but after last night no way he would have been on Mt. Rushmore if he played in the earlier days. It was a lot rougher game and he oblivious doesn't like getting banged on.

Teddy on there if it was craved today? FDR should be in his place. No other presidents since FDR warrant consideration IMHO.

I think I would've stopped at three. Two founding fathers and one that saved the Union. No one else is going to compete with that. I likeTR but one of four? My point is using this yardstick is a little overblown. I'd put Russell, West, and Jordan on it and leave it be.

Russell to represent the past, Bird, Magic and Jordan because they changed the whole business of the NBA.

Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlin, Kareem, and Michael Jordan. That is if we are talking greatest individual players. Russell if we are talking about the most prolific winner.

How about the Rushmore for your favorite team. Mine is Boston:

Russell, Bird, Havlicek, Auerbach.
