When it all began for the Pittsburg Steelers ? A Legacy has to start somewhere, and for the Pittsburg Steelers that Legacy began on July 8th 1933, when the fifth oldest franchise in the NFL was founded. Art Rooney Sr, know as :The Chief" to his players, coaches, staff and fans, was one of the great pioneers of the sports world, and brought the NFL to his beloved Pittsburg. At the time the Steelers joined the Eastern Division, they were one of only 10 teams in the NFL. Only 5 teams from that current group still remain, the Steelers, Chicago ( Arizona Cardinals ), Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and the New York Giants. Little did Rooney know back in 1933, or during the 1st 40 yrs of the franchise, that the Steelers would one day be among the NFL elite. The Steelers are tied for the lead in the NFL with 6 Super Bowl titles, and boost 27 members of the Pro football Hall of fame, including Bill Cowher, Troy Polalama and Donnie Shell, members of the Class of 2020 who will be enshrined during the Hall of Fame 2021 enshrinement ceremony.

Probably the biggest on the field news was Ben Roethlisberger throwing at training camp. The veteran QB has been out since week-2 of the 2019 season because of an elbow injury. Roethiisberger participated in Mondays practice, and the team releasted a 44 second video of his throws and handoffs afterward.

Geronimo, I'm pretty sure that you are a big Steelers fan, as you always seem to know as much if not a lot more about the Steelers on this site. Do you think that Roethlisberger is pretty much fully recovered from his elbow injury, or is it to soon to tell ?

Really it was kind of a dumb question on my part, I'm sure that he is very happy to be back out there after missing about the whole year. Warming up and throwing to his receivers is a whole different ballgame, than actually playing QB and having some defensive player wanting to do physical harm to you. Probably just a little early to tell as he no doubt has a little rust to get off as well.

Pittsburg Steelers receiver James Washington has been removed from the reserve/Covid-19 list. Washington enters his third season in Pittsburg, coming off of a break-out second season in which the Oklahoma State receiver had 44 receptions for 735 yds and 3 touchdowns. A deep threat, Washington is set to compete with rookie Chase Claypool for boundry-receiver duties alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson.

The Pittsburg Steelers are among the NFL elite in players under 25 years old. With the state of the NFL, it is imperative that teams keep a steady influx of young talent on their roster. ESPN decided to rank all 32 of the NFL rosters, based on the level of talent under 25, and the Steelers checked in at #6. With free Agency about to hit the Steelers like a ton of bricks next offseason, we will soon find out in a hurry just how good all these young guys are.
