Look for RR to do a lot of trick plays, on-side kicks and fake punts. He has nothing to lose now and he will empty his bag of tricks this week. OSU must come into this game with a pedel to the metal state of mind. If they play down to Michigan it could get tight. If OSU plays like they should I'm going to expect to see a score of 45-10 GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!
So many threads on this game, most of them saying the same thing. I'll post my opinion here.
First things first, Buckeyes should win this game by 20+.
That being said, this is the least interesting game of the rivalry I can remember. I work everyday at a store that sells Buckeye gear to die hard Buckeye fans, the energy for this game is lower than anyone could ever expect.
A couple things to keep in mind. 1) When Michigan has a 1st year coach, making their first apearance in The Game in Columbus, the Wolverines are 5-0. Overall they are 11-1-1. 2) In 1969, the Buckeyes were heavily favored, and the Wolverines were an average team with a new coach. The date was November 22, same as this year's game. The Buckeyes lost.
This year's game has the chance to be the 5th win in a row and 7th out of 8 for Tressel. This is the first year Dick Rod will be involved in the rivalry, a rivalry unlike any other he has ever seen. Michigan is out manned at every position on the field. An argument can be made that the Buckeyes second team is deeper and more talented than Michigan's first string.
Ohio State has the talent advantage Ohio State has the coaching advantage Ohio State has the fans at their home field.
This is a long and storied rivalry, and all the cliches about how you can throw out the records in this one do still apply.
All of that, and I can without a doubt say that nothing would please me more, than to see the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines like dogs. I would love to come on here after the game and see a thread that is titled: "Did the Buckeyes Run It Up Against Michigan?"
