I think OSU would be in for a rude awakening if they played this schedule.

This is ridiculous.

Charleston Southern? Troy? Kentucky? Florida International? South Carolina?

I don't want to hear that crap about weak schedules.

LOL. LSU, FSU, the SEC Champ game, and maybe, maybe Georgia would be a legit threat as long as OSU plays mildly well.

USC v. LSU --- since on the road at LSU, PUSH but USC is better

FSU v. Iowa --- PUSH

Penn State v. Georgia --- Penn State.. see MSU/UGA, all the UGA is losing, and the Happy Valley factor.. may be willing to go PUSH

Wisconsin v. other USC --- PUSH

Illinois v. Vandy ---- Illinois (watch out for these guys)

I am not claiming OSU's schedule to be a great one, but it is fairly typical in the college football world. No one is playing much better. To say OSU would be in for a rude awakening with UF's schedule is just downright intellectual dishonesty.

If by rude awakening, he means 2 maybe 3 loss season, then sure.

But, the Buckeyes will have that next year anyway.

ncf had them going undefeated going into the SEC title game. They wouldnt do that. Thats why they would be in for a rude awakening. I stated above I think OSU could lose to 3 teams on Florida's schedule and thats without knowing how good Tennessee or Arkansas will be.

I think OSU can be pretty good if DWash comes back. They just need leadership to step up.

QB - Big Upgrade
RB - Downgrade but the type of downgrade that can force the O to open up
TE - Upgrade though 3 and 4 wides most anyway with Stoneburner as a H-Back
WR- Push Talent upgrade but experience downgrade
OL- Push See WR plus Shugarts, Brewster, and Boren said to be nasty SOBs. Adams being the 1round type guy.

DL - Big Upgrade.
LB - Downgrade
CB- Push. Losing Malcom hurts but OSU always plugs in here and Chekwa (had a rough last game) and Dwash are tough
S - Upgrade

K - Upgrade
P- Push .. See WR and OL

I have to question the QB ranking. I would say Push. I think Pryor will be better, but who is his backup? If OSU doesn't get Boyd, then there next option is who if Pryor goes down?

Bauserman. JT likes him and said in 2007 that he would have felt okay with Bauserman starting a Big Ten game. There have been rumors of him transferring but Nevada says no. So, I hope he stays.

He was a solid recruit from Florida but then chose pro baseball over OSU.. then of course... came back to OSU in 2007.

Anyway, maybe I expect too much, but I think Pryor will be much much better in 2009. Here is why...

Horrible mechanics coming out of HS...
Ran almost all the time in HS....
Played offense and defense in HS.. never focused on QB...
Played basketball in HS... never focused on football...
Entered OSU at the regular time..
Didn't get the 1st team snaps in the preseason...
Bowl practice was the only time he practiced with the 1st teamers without every practice being gameplan only...

He isn't like these other HS QB's that have been "groomed" for the QB position their entire lives... He didn't enter school early... He didn't expect to start in the preseason.. and he led the Big Ten in passing efficiency...

What we saw this year was a freakish athlete just "playground" playing the QB position...

michigan keeps getting bashed as a weak team to have on your schedule but this is the first losing season in god knows how many years and you really think its going to be another season like the last. im a michigan fan and ill be the first to admit they were the worst team in the nation last year but next year will be a whole different story i see finishing in the top 10 if they get there qb. if not i still see a top 25 finish.

Michigan is still one year away from being a top 25 team. They should---should---did I say should win 6 or 7 games next year. They are another year of developing from being a 10 win program again.

QB- This is a position that is still under developed. Threet will see time next year, probably start, and then share the rest of the way. Tate will see time and if Denard Robinson signs with UM he may as well. Still a year away.

RB- This position is pretty deep. Minor will be one of the top 3 RB's in the league next season. You will see a lot of Michael Shaw as the speed back and possibly some Mike Cox as the power back. Lots of talent here. If Brown stays healthy he should see time as well---Terric Jones will add depth.

WR- This position should be better then last. Daryl Stonum should be ready to go as the outside speed wideout after getting plenty of experience as a Freshmen. Matthews will return for his senior season as is very dependable. Hemmingway, Rogers, and Clemons are also reliable with Roundtree to see some time as the 3rd option.

Slot- Tay Odoms did good things for UM last season and will be much better prepaired this season. Jeremy Gallon will upgrade this position as well, along with Terrence Robinson, Vincent Smith, and Toussiant Fitzgerald.

TE- Kevin Koger will eventually be the best TE in the Big Ten, just not next season. Brandon Moore will add depth along with Steve Watson and Martell Webb.

OL-They will be much better---but they would still not crack the starting lineup for OSU--any of them aside from some of the future freshman and maybe Schilling. This will be the deepest group, but very young.

DL- Brandon Grahm makes this group above average, but they are still a position or two away. Watch Big Will either come in and wreck things, or he goes over to the OL. Mike Martin is also a very nice DT/NG.

LB- This group should be much imporved. Obi Ezeh needs to move out of the middle and to the strongside, rumor is he will. If so, JB Fitzgerald will man the middle (big kid 6'5, 245), and Jonus Mouton manning the weak side. There is still depth issues here though.

DB- Donnavon Warren needs to step up and have a big junior season. He makes this group above average, but still they are not lockdown by anymeans. Boubacar Cissoko will man the other side, he will be a beast in another year. JT Floyd will play the nickel. This group is solid but not great, little depth.

S- Stevie Brown makes me want to vomit at times, while other times I go, ok this could work. Brandon Smith will man the FS, he is a former HS All-American. We'll have to see. Mike Williams will add depth. This position will be loaded in a year, but right now they are just solid.

So take from it what you will. I don't think they win more then 7 games max, sorry.

Well, it should be quite the clash in Columbus in 2010 because OSU fans and insiders are pumping 2010 as an OSU powerhouse season.

Plus, I didn't say UM would be an easy game. Just note that please... haha...

I think 2011 is the year Michigan is top 5 again, but I could easily see OSU being #1-#2 in 2010.

In 2010 there will be question marks at wideout, and that scares me a bit. The safety position will be very talented (loaded), but you young. Brandon Smith will just be a RSoph, and either Vlad, Marvin Robinson, or Thomas Jones will man the other. So you have the possiblity of RSoph alongside either a Freshman or RFr.

Every other position should be ready to go, I guess we'll see.

OSU will be okay next seaon...Both Thaddeus Gibson and Cameron Heyward should be a big help on the d-line...Anderson Russell and Chimdi Chekwa will also help as DBs...If Pryor does what he does best, which is make big plays, then IMO he is a strong Heisman contender sometime within the next 2-3yrs. Ohio State is returning some pretty good players overall. Dan Herron and Sanzenbacher will help Pryor.

Kurt Coleman = best safety on the team and should be 1st team All-Big Ten.

Watch for Jake Stoneburner out of the flex spot. Apparently he is up to 6'6" and 248 lbs while be totally "yoked" as one insider put it. He runs with the WRs but can block like a TE, so OSU will plan to move him around. He just needs to stay healthy this season.
