i'm thinking with all these top recruits they keep getting
they will be pretty good this year and with the new coach.

Re: kentucky basketball 2009
they have to be preseason #1. They should roll through the weak SEC. I look for a long tourny run. If Calli can get his kids to hit freethrows, they should be odds on favorite to win the title. With what he has to work with, anything less than final four will certainly be a disappointment in lexington.
Re: kentucky basketball 2009
I think you will see Kansas or Michigan State as the preseason #1.
I saw John Wall play this past winter, he is a very good player, but remember that he is ranked #1 in a very weak class of recruits. If I had to compare his talent to say that of OJ Mayo, then he would be nowhere close to Mayo. He reminds me more of Wayne Ellington. I do not really think he will be a true point gaurd if/when he gets to the NBA, so Ellington seems to fit here.
I do think UK will be in the top 5 without question.

Kansas is the clearcut number one...One lock for a lottery pick (Aldrich), and two more potentials (Henry and Collins) PLUS the loaded class they brought in last year...Its not close at this point.

I have to agree 85inside. Everyone I have talked with from the KY State thinks they will be the #1 team with the best coach in the nation. I do have one little suggestion for them, tell those in charge not to mess with the ACT scores.

Yes everyone from KY thinks they will be the #1 team. There is no way they are ranked above Kansas or Michigan State.

I think UK fans better prepare themselves for a short albeit successful run with Calipari and then 3 to 5 years of NCAA probation after he departs.

Yeah,Eddie Sutton era all over again...LOL And because of that, I haven't supported UK for well over 20 years...I'm very happy rooting for a clean and now very sucessful program..They indeed signed a deal with the Devil when they hired Coach Cal...
