Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Lots to work on still for OSU, but they now have a starting QB established the week before!!!
Must get better pass protection, and work on short passing game!
This is BIG TEN conference time now!
Last week of the suspensions too!
Your thoughts?

The Bucks come out and pound the Spartans for that statement win, getting themselves back into the Top 25. They then return their star players, head to Nebraska, and pull out a squeaker.

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Like Dubs said, alot to work on this week in order to beat a good team but very possible win for the buckeyes if they play up to their ability. It's conference time now, paving the road to Indianapolis.
Seems to be a trend going with our QB situation. Few years back we had Troy smith and Justin Zwick splitting time in a big game loss Texas and the following week Troy took over and history speaks for itself. Few years later, Beockman and Pryor split snaps going into USC and lose, Pryor takes over and history speaks again (on field, minus the negative tattoo scandal lol). And now, baseman and miller split snaps at a road loss to Miami and now Miller takes over. Let's see how history unfolds on this one. I'd say over the next few years in Columbus we will see some special things from #5

The only thing we cant turn him into robinson from tsup ,and what i mean is making him your whole offense .You see what happened up there he was always getting hurt and when defenses figured him out they could stop him. The kids a great talent and i would hate to have him hurt by the middle of the season

Denard is a great running back, it's a good thing Michigan has reinvented the single wing!!!mab43bac wrote:The only thing we cant turn him into robinson from tsup ,and what i mean is making him your whole offense .You see what happened up there he was always getting hurt and when defenses figured him out they could stop him. He's probably the best "wildcat" "receiver of the snap" ever!!!

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
I think there are several key areas that we need to improve on to win this game.
Offense: Pass blocking and dropped passes
Defense: Linebackers cannot miss tackles and must keep the running game in front of them. Defensive backs need to tackle better in space and not have coverage meltdowns. On top of that, we have to get a pass rush from a 4 man front to take some pressure off our DB's!
Special teams vs Colorado were right on point. OSU won the field position battle nearly all day.

MIchigan State looks like Ohio State. AS much as I hate dumbtonio, he has turned that program into a model of OSU.
MSU's runningbacks have the most depth in the conference and compliment one another very well. CUnningham and Martin are nice wideouts, but as elusive as Martin is he is not a burner. MSU lacks a true deep threat, and if you stop the run you stop MSU. Their OL is below average this year and if OSU can get a pass rush this game will look like it did last year.
OSU 24
MSU 17

As much as I love OSU I still think we are still too young I think MSU rolls us this week say what you want about MSU's O-Line our D-line is just as bad we have too much trouble getting to the QB and that will kill us Saturday.

If Miller doesn't put it on the carpet, OSU wins. I look for more power running and some packages for Miller.

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
They will need to run some short passing game and try and get the MSU secondary out of the box.
MSU plays man D, try's to shut you down with their corners, and uses blitz packages built to confuse.
If Braxton is able to run, he could shred the MSU D.

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
Bucks beat MSU with their D in a close game. QB is still a Frosh who will make mistakes.. Bucks will pound the ball.
Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
At least with Miller at QB you have a dual threat. He will only get better with experience. Run, Run, Run and Run the ball some more. OSU defense wins this one.
