If Mike Hamrick and Doc Holliday keep hitting home runs like they have recently, Marshall is going to have to build a baseball field.
Just consider the homers.
Hamrick, Marshall's first-year athletic director, has secured a home-and-home football series with the University of Louisville.
Herd fans already know that.
What they don't know is part of the UL package involves the Marshall men's basketball team playing in Louisville's holiday tournament next season.
Not bad.
But wait, there's more.
Hamrick also has completed a home-and-home football deal with a Big Ten school, according to sources.
That means in less than six months, Hamrick has added a Big East Conference football school, a Big Ten football school and a basketball tournament to future Marshall schedules.
Besides that, both Louisville and the Big Ten school will make appearances at Edwards Stadium in Huntington.
And here's the best part. These non-conference games are all within driving range for Herd fans.
They do have a away game against The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Maybe they are coming to Huntington
