Joe Bauserman, just because he is a senior, basically sat behind Terelle Pryor, and earlier, Todd Boeckman (any similarities there?), and was basically a mop up QB. He doesn't have much live game action of any quantity to draw from vs. Braxton Miller. Boy, what a mess at QB. Is it fair to say OSU at times looked overmatched and outplayed?

98 i agree they were way overmatched .Fickell needs to start miller and live and die with him ,he is the qb of the future and this 2 qb system isnt working .The d is playing lite out right now ,all we can hope for is maybe a winning record this year.

I wouldn't say the D is playing lights out. They drove the ball right down the field their first two possessions. Our CB's are very shaky at best. Our D did settle down and play better. I thought the O line played well pushing Miami down the field but when you have NO PASSING GAME and they put 9 guys in the box it is hard to run. Miller had two turn-overs in what limited time he played. He carried the ball like a loaf of bread which you can get away with in high school but not college. The WR's played like freshman dropping passes when they did get one to them. Joe threw knuckle ball after knuckle ball. I thought the Buckeyes would be all right but after watching this it is going to be a rebuilding year for sure. We have a lot of young players who need to learn. The WR's need Posey to take some of the pressure off. With Miller and Fickle they are both going to make learning mistakes. I would probably go with Miller and let him get experience for next year or I would go with Guyton. The Bucks have been great for years, every team has an off year now and then. Look at Texas and USC last year. It happens but I will keep watching and cheering the Bucks on.

"Charge" is spot on in his closing statements. The off season events endured by the Buckeyes would be too much for any program to overcome and retain national prominance without skipping a beat. What you see with OSU in 2011 is what you get. Each remaining game wil be a challenge for the Bucks and fans who are used to BCS berths will need to take solace in effort and improvement, maybe with an unexpected win or two thrown in. The program has rewarded the fans over the years, the fans now need to reward the program through continued support.

Ah, I've got so many thoughts, I'll list then seperatly!

Thought 1: Start Miller, Kenny Guiton becomes backup.
Similar styles, system becomes uniform, continuity is establish for 3 years, and offense finally gets an identity.

Tell Joe, thanks your degree is your reward!

Thought 2:

Fickle has always said that he let's the offensive staff run the offense. And he has nothing to do with it. He stays about 20-30 yards away from LOS during offense. It's time he either starts having a say and straightens up the lack of energy and discipline on that side, or it's time he kicks Bollman's a*s!!!

Thought 3:

Missing Nathan Williams is huge! Our linebackers are finally experiencing a drop off. Andrew Sweat is good, but wouldn't see time on LB cores of the past. Between Toledo and Miami, I haven't seen our Dline get pushed around up the middle like that for awhile, if nothing changes, Wisconsin beats OSU by 50, and rushes for 400 yards!

Thank God for Jordan Hall!!!
I like Hyde, but Hall brings an extra level.

Thought 5:

Special Teams haven't been special for about 4 years!!!
They were one of the only bright spots against Miami, and that's sad!

And until they get the coaching situation stabilized long-term, the recruiting will suffer. Right now the roof is on fire but it threatens to burn the whole house down. Guys, I like Fickell but he's not ready for prime time. They have to bring in a big gun ASAP or we will be what Notre Dame has been for the past five years.

Just need to take our medicine and get used to it.. Nobody should be really surprised after all that's happened, losing a legendary head coach plus all the starters not to mention the seniors already graduating and as soon as TP announced he was leaving I knew that was the deathblow and was already preparing myself for a long year,As for the QB debacle I agree with everybody else got to play Miller and let Bow Wow hold the clipboard,,no use playing him now he will not be back down the road,,I kind of wished they wouldn't have redshirted Taylor he looked pretty good in the spring game and would love to see what he could do in a game situation should Miller keep screwing up,, more losses to come the Outhouse bowl the first of the year would be great, but that might even be out of reach this year....

Buckeyes were just plain sloppy. We had absolutely no passing game. This may be a down year :/

Bollman HAS TO GO !!!! I've been saying it since before I ever got on this forum and will say it until he is no more. And while we're at it, take the QB coach with him. I completely agree with 'dubs thoughts although I have serious doubts Fick would ever show Bollman the door, if only out of respect for Tress. Fickell's ignoring the O has exposed Bollman for what he is. This just shows what a true genius Tress was for having to overcome this bumbling idiot.

I see future losses to MSU, Nebraska, Whisky, Ill. and Michigan and possibly a 3-0 score in triple OT with Penn State(a coin toss will determine the winner)

Fickell HAS to play Miller. If you're going to lose 4 or 5 more games you might as well do it with a true Frosh that's going to learn on the job and figure out his escape routes behind the pathetic O-line than with a senior who's best receiver is the co-ed in the third row.

I agree with everything except the third row comment. I dont think he has the arm or accuracy to hit the third row consistently!

f&b, You and i have been consistant on here in saying Bollman sucks for several years, eventually everyone will be able to see it but my gosh how long does it take??? This line should be dominant based on recruiting and experience and even without Adams should be very very good but............well we have seen the results. That alone should get Bollman fired! Our offensive scheme is SOOOOOOOOOO simple and our play design is and has been strategically designed to NOT lose games rather than try to win games. No imagination in our offense and it is setup to beat lesser teams but fail miserably against teams of equal talent. How many times under Bollman's watch have we beaten a team that was better than us? (maybe once) JT is gone but that offensive mindset remains. Fickell should be given the opportunity to learn and excell/fail on his own but with that idiot calling the offense I am affraid he doesn't even have a punchers chance at staying on as HC of the Bucks. Hopefully he did learn that as good as JT was, his loyalty cost him wins and, even if not for tatoo-gate, would have eventually cost him his job because to most that was his glaring weakness.

This is going to be my one and only message on this topic, I know I'm a few days past due. But, all I have to say is THANK YOU LAMAR MILLER!!! and defense!

On a side note, I know Miami's defense is pretty darn good, but Ohio State's offense is atrocious.

It's still all about The U baby!!

I've been told by friends who usher in the stands behind the home bench at The Shoe that the OSU sideline atmosphere is bedlam with no leadership and no direction.
During the Miami game, the TV cameras caught Braxton Miller several times standing apart from the other QBs while the offense was out on the field and nowhere in sight when the offense was on the sideline while the other QBs were talking with the coaches. I don't fault the kid, I fault the coaches. He should have a headset on and be engaged, not standing there with his arms crossed.
