Ky. Christian U. To Play Home Games At Marshall
The Kentucky Christian University Knights will play the majority of their home games for the 2010 season at Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards Stadium. KCU competes in the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA, and is continuing to develop plans to build a stadium in Grayson. Last year's home games were played at South Point High School, with the previous season played at Morehead State University.

thats great but why not a high school team locally, you have east carter , west carter, ashland, boyd county. just to name a few. i'm sure ashland could more than handle the crowd. unless it's a turf issue. heck morehead would even be closer i think.

Turf is probably a major part of the issue. Facilities as well. The Mid-South Conference probably has an opinion on it. And Morehead was not available.

Re: Ky. Christian U. To Play Home Games At Marshall
Actually, the games at Morehead were well-attended, with some of the crowds being as large as Morehead State gets for their games, which came as a big shock to some of the officials at MSU. The crowds at the games at Morehead would not fit in the stadiums at East or West Carter. It is getting a little old to have to drive 30 minutes for a home game, and that does lower the attendance figures, as seen in the games played last year at South Point. I suspect the excitement of playing at a stadium like Marshall has will bring the numbers back up. Plus, moving into the East Division of the Mid-South means playing more schools within a short driving distance, which translates to more people attending from the visiting schools. Those numbers will be measured in hundreds this year instead of dozens, which we have seen when playing schools from 6 to 14 hours away.
It really is the best option until an on-campus stadium is built.
