Logan's Angle at YSU

Post by Paladin »

Heres a photo of Logan's Patrick Angle and the other QBs competing for the starting job at YSU . One of the local sportswriters has written an article where he guesses (lol) that the favorite is Tyler, a Purdue transfer at 2-1 odds. Hess from Dayton Chaminade is listed as a 5-1 choice, Kanetsky from Hubbard at 10-1, Angle at 20-1 and Hulea from Poland at 50-1. LOL ! Pic is from the opening Media Day as practice opened .

Don't see that. You may be thinking of Bryan Gaiters from ZHS who played last year & in the Spring.. Gaiters is no longer on the team and not sure he is back as a student. He may have been an academic casualty.

I would say that my opinion now is that Angle will be red-shirted this season. He shows ability to play at this level and has looked good in his limited scrimmage plays but is behind QBs with experience in the system and a Big 10 transfer. Hess from Dayton Chaminade , a red shirt Frosh currently starts followed by a Jr. ( Kanetsky) and then the Purdue transfer (Tyler).

The last scrimmage of the pre-season saw Angle get some limited time where he went 2 for 3 in passing for 15 yds. and played well. Still appears that he will be red-shirted. The starter for the Penn St. game will be Hess, red-sirt Frosh from Dayton Chaminade. The Purdue transfer is still 3rd team QB. YSU - Penn St. game is broadcast on TV on the Big Ten Network at noon on Sept. 4.

Pat was red-shirted. Don't wait too long for the show! There is a place for you in Westerville (just sayin'). :122246

One thing about YSU, you never know when things will change. Grades ( no cake courses), injury, discipline or legal problems changes the line-ups constantly and over several years. This isn't like the big time where school lawyers get you off the hook if you get in trouble, weenie classes don't exist, discipline is tough under this coach and injuries are a way of life. Went thru 3 QBs just recently in one season. He looks O.K., just needs some time to adjust to this level as he was behind players who have been here awhile. They ( grades, injury, discipline or personal problems) have to survive as well. He should play here.

Hey, sorry; I'm a Cardinals apologist. I should be on the staff as a recruiter.

Don't mind me. I DO recruit for YSU. LOL ! They liked my recommendation on Pat. If they didn't think he could play there , they wouldn't have signed him. 8)
