Not much to report as this time outside of Brionte Dunn not being an early enrollment kid.

I guess this helps some, but I still feel it is an uphill battle.

Dunn is done =buckeye. Good luck to him.

I was told after he cancelled our chances went way down.

Not a devastating blow, we will have a 1000 yard rusher return who will just be a RJr, followed by Vincent Smith who is a senior, and two RFr who were both 4-stars out of high school. Michigan is fine.

So this is what remains:
1. Chesson-99%
2. Wright-75%
3. Same Grant-75%
4. Garnett-50%
5. Reeves-25%
the rest less then 10%-Diamond, Banner, Payton

A few tidbits

1. Urban Meyer has re-recruited nearly all Ohio UM commits, but he is not laying off of once OSU commit Kyle Kalis. Kalis told him in their last conversation to "back off". He is as firm as firm can be to Michigan, no worries.

2. Joshua Garnett is down to UM-ND-Stanford. I still feel he stays out west and Stanford is the team to beat with UM in a close second.

3. Yuri Wright and Armani Reeves will both visit the same week. Should be very interesting but Wright is 75% blue right now.

4. UM has moved on w RB's and will not recruit another.

5. Sam Grant is leaning very heavily towards decommitting from Boston College and heading towards UM.

6. UM would like another OL, but if they get Grant then Williams will move over from TE to OT, so no worries.

7. Diamond is a nice player and if we get him great, but Garnett is the kid we want most. Anyways, he REALLY wanted to play in a spread, so I don't think it is going to help us, but I think he is leaning Wisconsin or OSU.

8. OSU and Meyer are recruiting well, we knew he would, and I am happy about it. This should be a war and I am glad it will be. BTW, UM's class COULD be even stronger because 4-star WR Aaron Burbridge wanted to be blue very bad but his grades wouldn't allow it. Current OSU commit SeVon Pittman was told flat out NO by UM because his grades were not good.

Jordan Diamond listed his top 5 on twitter he says in no order, and lists them as such:
OSU
Auburn
Arkansas
Wisconsin
Michigan

He is currently at Auburn on a visit, and attended the team banquet this evening.

Yeah I saw that.

Michigan will be his last official visit. It also helps his former teammate Chris Bryant is currently a freshmen at UM. Could be the ace in the hole. UM led for him early, but we will see how it shapes out. I still feel he is Wisconsins to lose imo.

Not much going on right now as they prepare for bowl game.

A few things:
1. OSU is doing work, we all knew Meyer would. Two of their latest commits would flat out not get into Michigan (Spence and Pittman), and I am a little worried that UM's acceptance requirements are going to be too tough because OSU's just got a little easier.

2. Jehu Chesson is deciding Wednesday. Chesson=Wolverine. So WR recruiting is finished and it looks like Jordan Peyton who was at one point considered a lock to come to UM waited too long.

3. 5-star JOshua Garnett has narrowed his list to Michigan, ND, and Stanford. I have told you for a month this is who he liked, he just made it official. IMO and from what I have been told it is a two man race and the odds look like this Stanford (75%) Michigan (24%) Notre Dame (1%). So not looking great but it is what it is.

4. Jordan Diamond will visit UM last. I think having his teammate at Michigan helps, but like I have said in the past he wanted a spread offense. I thought UM was his leader for a long time, then it looked like he would stay closer to home and choose WIsconsin, but now I kind of feel like no one really knows. We shall see.

5. UM's offensive line class is stacked without Diamond or Garnett, but there is no doubt they will land one more before it is all said and done.

6. HEre is the thing, we all knew Meyer would come in year one and kids would fall in love with him. Now he has to win to keep it up. He probably will. Michigan just needs to do what they did in the past, take about 2 difference makers away from the bucks, and this year they took about 4, so good start. Next year they have already landed possibly the #1 player in the state of Ohio and the #1 QB in the country, so things look solid as Michigan moves forward.

Could u provide a lin k that shows what has changed at OSU?

Two major parts of Meyer's contract negotiations.
1) OSU was prepared to pay the initially reported near 7 million per year. In the end, the staff is still getting around that amount budgeted, but Meyer is getting about 4 million. Previously Smith had said they wouldn't pay SEC coordinator prices. Meyer needs the extra for assistants to get the level he needs to maintain his personal health. Smith obliged in order to get Meyer.

2) Meyer wanted immediate impact recruits to be in his system year 1, not at Fork Union. They had been going to FUMA to get admission eligible, they were able to play grade wise, but were not able to get into OSU for either ACT or GPA or course strength reasons. I doubt you'll ever find a university official release stating lower standards for 5* guys. But instead of Carlos Hyde, Cardale Jones, and Eddie George, going to FAMA, now Sa'Von Pittman and Noah Spence will be directly into OSU.

Thanks Dubs.

Yeah, I had heard that Urban wanted it to be a tad bit easier to get in as part of his contract.

As far as Michigan goes, after the Rich Rod debacle bringing in kids who were essentially boarder line IEP kids, requirements got a little harder. UM has a sliding scale to get in, the higher your ACT or SAT the lower your GPA can be. I know for a fact that it used to be on average around a 2.8 and 21 on ACT. Now it is a lot closer to a 3.0 on average. I am not saying this to make OSU look inferior academically, it is just fact. Schools like Michigan, Cal, Duke, Notre Dame, Stanford need to get with the times and lower their requirements if they want to continue competing.

So here we are back to 24 commits. UM wants 4 more.

What remains:
1. Yuri Wright-75%
2. Sam Grant-75%
The rest:Jordan Diamond, Yuri Right, Armani Reeves, and Monty Madaris will all visit the week of the 13th.
Still on the board-Joshua Garnett-25%

So as of today the feeling I get is Yuri and Sam will be blue and UM will try for one more OL and either another DB or WR.

Sam Grant verballed to Boston College then took a visit to Michigan two weeks ago and is considered a very very soft verbal.

Sam Grant will be going to Michigan when all is said and done imo.

But thank you for pointing out the obvious, and try reading the entire thread first :122249

Merry Christmas to all!

Two big things for Michigan fans.
1. My bro in law told me something very BIG is happening the 28th. He wouldn't elaborate, but only said it is very good for UM. I guessed and guessed and he wouldn't budge.

My guesses were 1. No more Notre Dame on the schedule since everyone is moving to 9 league games 2. Notre Dame is joining the BiG. 3. More night games.

Again he wouldn't tell me but IMO it is no more Notre Dame, and I would love that. I hope Notre Dame can schedule another armed forces team to replace us and stop being a tick on the Big 10.

2. Josh Garnett- there is a feeling UM is back in it, I mean very back in it for him. So percentage went from 25% to this Stanford 51% Michigan 49%. There is still room to make up, but UM feels very good about him right now.

and to all a good night!

I've heard that there is going to be a push behind the scenes by the B10, to get the conference teams to stop scheduling ND.

Basically telling ND, that if they don't want in our conference, then they're no longer going to make a couple million dollars a year off the backs of our teams!

Dubs, Not being smart but how does ND make money playing Purdue or even MSU? ND fans would miss playing Mich but not Purdue or MSU. I am sure ND can find other teams to play. A bonus would be if those teams were somewhere great to visit in Oct or Nov(Tenn, UNC, GA,GA Tech, Fla etc.) I can understand Big10's stance but honestly ND will be fine with or without them and you and I both know it.

They would do fine, but the conference is prepared to let them do it without B10 involvement.

1. Nebraska>Notre Dame. With the addition of Nebraska there really is no reason to play ND anymore. Don't get me wrong after my visit to ND I loved loved loved the experience and met some great people, but it doesn't benefit the Big Ten to play ND anymore.

Again this may not be the news, he was not at liberty to release all the details, but it is my best guess.

I can say this about the comment about playing someone else and it being better. If you are talking about replacing MSU with the likes of Wake Forest of UNC I don't call that an upgrade. MSU has become one of the better programs in the Nation, and I was at the ND v UNC game two years ago. UNC football and the culture sucks. The game wasn't much fun and Chapel Hill is not a huge upgrade over East Lansing in terms of things to do and see. Ditto for Wake.

IMO it is going to get more difficult for ND to schedule someone yearly with the formation of these super conferences. Kind of like sh*t or get off the pot, and ND has been sitting on the pot for far too long.
