FAN I have to agree with a lot of what your saying, but I'm not ready to annoint Wilson just yet, kind of reminds of the argument I had last week with the Michigan people,Seeing is believing and so far I see him beating up on very weak defenses,Lets see what happens after this weekend then I'll be a believer...

No one is anointing?

Try reading the thread and the title thread, 1/2 the board already has the untested Bagers in the title game, and several think Wisconsin would beat LSU or Bama!

IMO, Wisconsin will win the Big-10 title but beating Bama or LSU (don't include me in that group) !!!!!!.

Wisconsin is good...but won't see the national title game... Barring upsets(that could happen)... You'll see Oklahoma vs. The SEC champ...either Alabama or LSU

Wisconsin is the best the Big Ten has ... And the Big Ten is down .... The SEC has 3/4 teams, at least, better.

javgt, 3 or 4 teams.I'll give you two.Two teams that are playing old style BIG 10 football.BIG 10 down, I think not.Three bad teams in B1G.Ohio State not the dominate team is the only change.B1G as a whole very young teams or injured.Bama beat PSU 27-11, with Bolden at qb and he can't hit a barn from ten feet.Agree not a real dominate team in the B1G and that's what makes it kind of interesting.Only one league that has a couple of dominate teams and we know who that is.If every league in the country could over sign a whole class every four years things might change. With that said who is in the BIG EAST this week?

Let's see how how Wisconsin plays this weekend at MSU. That will be the first road test. This gives a off week for the OSU coaches to see if they can game play. As well as change on the offensive side. Also it is up to the players to do more and be ready to step up to play.

True but I dont see Wisky having trouble with anyone in the big ten im pretty much sold to the fact they will win the big ten this year.... Oh and btw me a a group of my friends were taking about the Wilson kid he was NCST's QB last year What was his reason for going to Wisconsin in the first place????? I mean who just sits around and says He I would love to go to Wisconsin??? Something to think about

Wilson wanted to play baseball but the coach did not want him to. So they released him to go elsewhere because they thought they had a QB that could replace him. Since Wilson had graduated he didn't have to sit out a year. So he looked around at different schools that he good start for.

I think Wisconsin is a very strong team, worthy of their BCS ranking........but from what I have seen of them, they don't have a dominating defense, which could mean that the OSU offense will be able to move the ball on them.........but moving the ball and scoring are two different things........I think the Buckeyes will have to score 24 or more, because I don't think a good OSU defense will hold a very good Badgers offense to less than 21-23 points.

And I do think we will have to complete more than 1 pass against UW to win..........

By J.P. Giglio - Staff writer

Russell Wilson’s college football career appears to be over.

N.C. State plans on moving forward without the All-ACC quarterback, Wolfpack coach Tom O’Brien said Wednesday. O’Brien said he doesn’t expect Wilson, the starter for the previous three seasons, to return to school after he goes to training camp with the Colorado Rockies later this month.

“Our plans are he’s not coming back,” O’Brien said. “He’ll be a baseball player. We have to move forward with Glennon. We’ve planned for this day and Michael’s ready to do it.”

Wilson, who threw for 3,563 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2010, led State to a 9-4 record and the No. 25 ranking in the final AP poll. A first-team All-ACC selection in ’08 and second-team in ’10, Wilson ranks among the best quarterbacks in school history. He’s third on the career list in total offense (9,628 yards), third in passing yards (8,545) and second in passing touchdowns (76).

Wilson has a season of football eligibility remaining but has a contract with the Rockies, who drafted him in the fourth round last June. He announced on Jan. 17 that he was going to the Rockies’ training camp and would “fully concentrate” on baseball but did not rule out returning for the football season.

As a graduate, Wilson has the option to transfer and play at another Division I school for the ’11 season.

“We just can’t sit here and say, ‘OK, we’re going to wait for Russell to come back,’ ” O’Brien said. “We have to move forward.”

O’Brien said the door is open for Wilson to return but said with the loss of three top receivers, it was “crucial” to have the quarterback in spring practice. O’Brien said playing quarterback was a “365-day-a-year” job.

“It [would] be a tough situation for him to come back and do it,” O’Brien said. “We would have to see if that ever happens but I don’t foresee that happening down the road. Russell has never failed at anything he has ever attempted. He’s going to try make the Colorado Rockies. That’s where I see him.”
