Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
IMO the defenses are about even but on the offensive side I'll have to pick MSU. They have Cousins who is not a phenomenal QB by any means but I think he leads all Big-10 quarterbacks in passing efficiency for the year right now and with Baker and Bell (from Groveport) in the backfield with him form a pretty good trio. The wide outs are pretty good but haven't done anything spectular so far that I've seen. If OSU's defense can get to the QB this will be a close game, if not then MSU could win by 2 or 3 td's. Mr. Miller can't run as much this week as he did last because he'll be on crutches shortly if he continues to not get down and get hit on all these plays. He's learning the offense but the O line hasn't helped out much until last week and I think Colorado was a below average team at best. The next "2" weeks with Mich. State and @ Nebraska will tell the whole season IMO for the Bucks if they'll be playing the 2nd place SEC team or the 5th place one in a bowl game. (Forget about the Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois and Michigan games. It'll all be decided after the Nebraska game one way or the other).
Prediction: Michigan State 27 Ohio State 17

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
I agree with dubs about the need to get the short passing game going. The O-line is going to have to open some holes for the backs to gain consistent positive yardage. We have to avoid 3rd and long situations. 3rd and 4 or less on a consistent basis will make for points all day. With the Spartans playing man defense, Miller could be a deciding factor with his feet...but he can't be looking to run first. He seems to be a very bright kid, who although he can't make all the throws yet, seems to understand his limitations as well as his strengths. The defense is going to have it's work cut out keeping us in the game and the special teams has to be on point for four quarters, but I truly believe this will be a Buckeyes win.

I'm glad Braxton Miller is the Buckeyes' QB now, but there's still a learning curve with him........with each game he will get better, but I do believe that OSU's defense will have to win this game.........Michigan State will not be in a good mood after getting pounded by ND last week.
GO BUCKEYES!!!

With Rutgers and Syracuse taking 10 yrs to finish on ABC, is there another channel showing the start of the OSU game?

FYI for those who aren't able to view the game, it's MSU 7 OSU 0 with 12:01 left in the second quarter. Ohio State can not get any offense going at all. MSU is able to get a few yards a play, not looking bad on offense.

Miller looks like a deer in headlights and O-line really stinking it up.

Well I think its easy to see why Fickell wanted to stick with Bow Wow now,,Miller is not much better at this point against good competition,Miller looks like a true freshman for sure 1 pick already and another near miss back the other way,,, as bad as hes looked I still hope Fickell sticks with him cause he needs a lot of experience if O-State is going to be any good in the future,,I'd like to see them do some more screens in the second half taking the pressure off Miller and get the ball to Hyde more,,, defense looking so so need to tighten up pass coverage,,overall lucky its still a one touchdown game

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01
It all starts up front and every member off the offensive line who got in the game should be embarrassed by their performance today or there lack of.
The wide receivers are as horrible as any who have ever donned a Ohio State uniform.
Miller looks lost even when running the ball. How many times has he ran into his own guy when he has a chance to make positive yards.
Play calling by Fickle, or who ever is calling the plays is as bad as I have ever seen at this level.
