Is Chris Speilman getting on anyone's nerves or is it just me? Is he trying so hard to not be biased towards OSU that he is making stupid comments like "OSU getting all the questionable calls" every 15 seconds?

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
Very annoying, we have gotten a few calls, but CAL is getting progressively dirtier.. I wouldn't be surprised if CAL started a fight in the second half when they realize they can't win.Bleeding Red wrote:Is Chris Speilman getting on anyone's nerves or is it just me? Cal players are running their mouths after just about every play. Maybe they should look at the score board.

This 3rd Quarter was pathetic. If we don't step it up in the 4th we might lose.

Well, unless Ohio State gets that foot out of their a$$ and finds some offense the that was your ballgame. Call is up 21-20 and has completely dominated the Bucks in the 2nd half.

After the offense being terrible most of the second half, we explode with a drive of great plays and score. Went for 2 got it, 28-21 with a little over 8 minutes to go.
Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
Good god this is embarrassing! The defense has big problems, would somebody please show these defensive backs how to tackle(christian bryant) instead of just submarine in there with the shoulder and hope for the best, are they afraid of losing their arms? Now Miller with the interception yuck, thank god their kicker stinks they should winning by more than a touchdown right now,Mark May is falling out of his seat about now

CAL blew that assignment because they thought Miller was running. D bites tries to come down and boom, wide open TD pass.

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
A win is a win, BUT:
1.) Cal is NOT good. OSU played with little emotion today and Meyer and Co. didnt have this team fired up and ready for a battle.
2.) Defensively OSU has some SERIOUS issues. The secondary besides Roby today and the final INT by Bryant (who was harassed all day) is pathetic. Has been all year. At times they have looked completely lost in every game. Defensive line is not playing near its potential. Williams isnt the same as before the injury and why are they not subbing Spence in anymore to get pressure on the QB??
If I am Fickell and Vrabel, today I start thinking about making this unit better FAST. I dont think Meyer is going to give a ton of rope to a couple guys who he let stay around after taking over. Its a building year, but Meyer is not going to lose from defensive meltdowns and not bring in his hand picked defensive coaches.
3.) Take Miller out of the running game and it is decent, not anything great. Need to find a way to get Dunn and Hall going. Fragel needs to really improve to help shore up the O line.
Cant be happy with this win, but its better than a loss!

Agree 100% the only 3-0 team that has gotten worse as they play Fickell is clueless he let bubble screens kill them all day. I don't like to complain about a win but geez. And another thing our fans are garbage at the stadium they are quiet and just sit on their hands I could hear a stinking pin drop in that place and i live in Las Vegas.Bleeding Red wrote:A win is a win, BUT:

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
I got home from the game, and set down and I could not breathe.............What I had just witnessed was an embarrassment......We should beat this team by a minimum of three TDS......Now, their QB was good and fired up........Their running back did not go down with the tackling technique that Fickle is teaching them.................Their running backs stayed up and kept digging..........I love the fact that we gave two of our own a chance to coach in the big leagues, but they are not ready for the Biug Leagues.......This must change for next year............However, a win is a win , and maybe Meyer will take over the defense until next year.......... :12224

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
VEGAS- I was thinking the exact same thing about crowd noise. Now I have been to 30+ games at the Shoe. Had season tickets 2 years ago. I know that the crowd doesnt "normally" get fired up the first few weeks because we play cupcakes. Once we hit the B1G schedule it starts getting loud. Michigan at the Shoe and you cant hear yourself yelling its so loud.
But when a team is making a comeback, dont you think the crowd could get loud? They did a few times and Cal jumped offsides. But only a few times.
Here is the solution: Get the old arses out of those seats! Stop selling so many tickets to alumni who have had the same seats for 30 years. Look how many alumni sell their tickets when UM and other B1G opponenets come to Columbus.....they sell them to the 20 and 30 year olds who pound some beer at pregame and get right, then go in and yell all game. The place gets off the hook and it creates problems for the opposing offenses.
They need to get some fresh blood in there and start selling more tickets to the public. Start with season packages first then sell individual games! But as bad as I hate to say it, UCF's senile coach last week was right....its not that loud in the Shoe for all of the home games!

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
I agree....We had tickets in an area where the average age was 70..........No one cheered.......I was asked to sit down .........My grandson, going to only his second OSU game, said I thought that was what we were supposed to do....I siad it is and kept cheering......Something needs to be done.......... :12224

Re: Week 3: OSU vs CAL
At the OSU/Mich game in 06, I swear when Mich had the ball you could yell as loud as you could and couldnt hear yourself. No old people to be seen in the stands. I have nothing against old people, but if your not going to cheer for the team and make some noise dont go to the game!
