Michigan State @ Michigan
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Why cant you stay focused? An OSU reference? Anything that makes that 3-9 go down better. How about this. You win. Rich Rodriguez was the best man for the Michigan job. Like the sign read last week in Ann Arbor, "In Rod we trust."
Good Luck in West Lafayette this week. They got a big drum, but not much else.

Your best post yet. Like I said, you keep saying the same thing over and over. I do get it. What dyou you want me to do, not see positives. Ok, I'll sit back and sulk.
I can reference OSU all I want, this has to be a disappointing year for you OSU fans. You were supposed to win/compete for a National Title. That is disappointing.

Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Yes, you can comment on OSU all you want. That is what this board is about, college sports. Comment away.
As for OSU, the disappointing part of the season for me, as a fan, is not keeping our dominance of the Big Ten. it now appears that Penn State will win the title outright. They deserve it, they are a great team! The Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl trip has always been my number one goal as a fan. The "mythical title" has never carried much weight for me. If they ever get to a true playoff situation, maybe it will. OSU did not deserve to be in a national championship game last year. The system is broken.
Im old school. I like traidition. I like the Big Ten title and a trip to the Rose Bowl. That is what it is all about with me. So you are right, I am disappointed with the season thus far. Hopefully next year we can continue to play for a Big Ten Title and hopefully win it again.
Next year will be tough again as we will have to travel to Happy Valley. That has never been easy for the Buckeyes.

Did RR get an extension on his contract? If he did they are insane at Michigan.
They are going to be hard pressed to win any games left this year. I see no hope for next year either being a winning season.

why do you see no hope when they will have a bunch of returning players that will have good expereince and with the players possibly coming in
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Yes I would love to know why they won't be any better next season as well. The OLine will be better. They will have two QB's who can run this offense, and a third stringer who started about 10 games in Threet. Every single skilled position player returns.
On the defense there should be enough to talent to win games. The entire LB core returns, the secondary will return both Donnavon Warren and Boubacar Cissoko.
Here are some vids of the recruiting class.

Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Because you are hoping a freshman QB will run the offense, Threet is not the QB for this system. Look at TP at OSU still struggling. OSU had everyone back from a great team last year and thought they would dominate and when the BCS national championship. Now, look where they are. You are counting on all these players being better next year for Michigan and look how bad they are performing this year. Again, OSU had great talent returning this year and already has two loses. Michigan talent is not that great this year so I don't see a major improvement next year, maybe more comfortable in the system but again, so was OSU this year.
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Of all the people on this site you bring up a freshman QB running the offense. I am pretty sure a freshman runs your offense. He hasn't done a terriable job, I mean he was 6-0 before the PSU game. You knew what you got with TP when you signed him. He is not Troy Smith, totally different set of skills. You talk like OSU is a 6-6 club, they are a two loss club, and a bounce or two away from being a 1 loss club. OSU has alos lost to two teams that were at one point in the top what 5? You are reaching when you compare where both are.
I am not counting on Michigan winning a NC next season, so your expectations and mine must be much different. If Michigan wins 8 games next season I will be very happy. The schd will also be favorable. ND, PSU, and OSU will all be in Ann Arbor.
The "BIG" difference in this season and next----7 starters will return on offense.
Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong, we'll see.

We won 9 games last year and look at all the NFL talent we had, so yea I say 8 wins next year would be nice.

Oh, yea and Michigan posters were predicting 7 wins this year, wrong! I still see a losing season for Michigan next year.
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
Maybe you could go up to Ann Arbor and help them figure out the problem since it is obvious you already have.

Well, It's pretty plan to see every Sat. when you turn on the tube. I think you also see it but would rather not except it. Come on now, How many times have you screamed at the TV toward RR and wondered why they chose him?

it was not extension he recently signed. this was his original contract.
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
I don't scream at RR at all. I scream at Threet for not seeing the entire field, or throwing a bad ball, or making a bad read. I scream at the offensive line when they don't open up holes. I scream at the defense when they are in position to make the tackle and don't tackle in open space.

It all comes back to coaching. Which is RR not getting them prepared. Hey, the D was loaded and experienced this year, remember?
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
You are only as good as your players. Oh, you want to back Snyder and say give him time to recruit, do the job, etc. But you feel the same rules shouldn't apply here? RRod can't coach up a kid who doesn't have the skills to coach up. When White was a frosh he was much like Threet throwing the ball, but if he wasn't throwing well he could run it effectively. What more can RRod do with Threet? Has has gotten more production out of the running game. Offensively Michigan is moving in the right direction with a limited lineup. It doesn't all just come down to coaching. Was Frank Beamer such a bad coach his first couple of seasons when he had a losing record? No, you are only as good as your players.
Why is RRod not getting them prepaired? They have led the last 4 of 5 games at the half, and only trailed by a FG in the other. You can only do so much on effort alone. When a team has more talent, they useually win.
I have no excuse for the defense aside from the two safeties are bad and the LB core is very young.

I gave Snyder time. He came in a bad time 6 total returning starters, new conference, coming off probation and finally getting our 85 full rides back this year. RR didn't walk into a mess like this.
Re: Michigan State @ Michigan
This is RR first season, so regaurdless of what you say or anyone else, I will give him time. RRod walked into 9 new starters on offense and 5 on defense. Michigan implimented a new system, while all Snyder did was replace the vertical routes with short routes and more running.
RRod walked into a huge mess. He had to deal with a a p*ssed off booster and fan base, with 9 players leaving for the NFL, and defections from the team. I would say that is not a great situation, but I guess snyder had it much worse.
