Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
Maybe i'm wrong but i thought football was meant to be played in all weather conditions. If it's in snow, then sobeit.
The best team will win no matter the conditions.
Just like the Superbowl, games should be played outside in northern stadiums.

Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
^^^ That was kind of a joke about the Carrier Dome.
The only way IMO, that BCS games should be played up north is if it is a dome. Lucas Oil or Ford Field is perfect.
Also, if Penn State played USC at Foxboro or Ann Arbor on January 1 instead of Pasadena, how do you think that one turns out? A lot closer just because of their styles.
Super Bowl? Theyve never played outside in a northern stadium?! It is always a dome or in Texas, California, or Florida.

So you are saying that games being played in northern conditions are unfair?
But playing a game in your own stadium or state isn't?
Every team should be treated equal as possible!

It's not like they decided to put the game in Miami after Florida earned their way there. we knew it was going to be there years ago.
not saying it's unfair to play up north but I wouldn't want to watch a national title game and the result turn out to be like the Sun Bowl.

Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
I wasn't saying talking about a paticular team...
The main reason these games are not played up North are weather and the almighty dollar.......
That's the way it is but it's not fair to the fans.
As far as Flordia earning the short trip to Miami, that's debatable.Do I think Flordia is Good, yes.
But there are about 3 other teams who have a legitamit gripe.

I agree with the gripe but everyone has a gripe. There will probably be a gripe after the install a playoff.
Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
Personally, only Utah would have any gripe. They played their schedule and they did not lose. ALL other teams have no gripe. IF USC would have won all of their games, they would be national champs.
Congratulations Florida. They deserve the title.

Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
The Big 10 always has some kind of an excuse. They might play 2 or 3 games when it is that cold outside. It's not like they play in cold weather all year. I think warm conditions are fair to everyone. If your team can't play in warm conditions then something is wrong. I do think it is dumb that Florida played the National Championship inside the state of Florida, but it's not like the BCS committee knew Florida was going to be playing in the National Championship like FT45 said. The bowls have been set up like this for years. Quit making excuses please. I think plenty of fans are at the game IMO. When Ohio State played Miami in 02 Ohio State fans sure didn't have a problem traveling to Tempe.
Just accept that the Big Ten is awful this year. Michigan didn't even make a bowl game, Ohio State lost to USC, Penn State, and Texas. Penn State lost to Iowa and USC. Wisconsin lost to Florida State. I just named the usual top teams of the Big Ten, and they were all let downs.

Re: Oklahoma vs. Florida
If you have played football and you are from the midwest then yes, there is a huge differene in playing on cold/cool weather and hot.
During the first few games, I thought I was going to puke after quarter 1 due to the heat. I hated playing in August. There is a huge difference in being used to playing in cold/cool weathe and hot.
The reason that bowl games are played in the south is due to $$$$$$$, nothing more-nothing less.
Could you see 40,000 Florida fans travel to NY or Boston for the NC? No! They would p*ss their pants and complain that this isn't how football is played. I love snow, I love cold weather games, nothing like being at an OSU/UM game with freezing temps.
