So.................. Can the Cats get over the hump this year? Another trip to Detroit only to come home with a loss would be a failure in my book. No more time to "build". This team needs to win in the post season.

Some pubs have given us decent projections for next year:

NY Times-# 60

Rivals-# 73

Orlando Sentinel-# 50

Thanks for wanting to talk some football O & B.....PP likes to hijack threads and bash students and programs....guess he's perfect.

No problem Doc! I was pretty sure this thread was for talking Bobcat Football.

I wonder how the play calling will work out on Offense this year. Last year it seemed that at times Ohio was really confused on what they wanted to do.
It just felt like they had a pass first play book and a run first mentality.(If that makes since at all)
--Maybe I missed something or was just seeing it and it wasn't there but thats how it looked to me.--

When the Cats O was in rhythem it looked like they could hang with any one, but maybe it was the injury's but there were several times the O was just a mess.

I really expect 10 or 11 wins out of this years team, That includes either a win in the Mac Championship and/or a bowl game. I think 10 or 11 wins this year will set Ohio football up for a long run of MAC Championships. The recruits that Solich has brought in have paid off. We all new he could recruit but he is finding kids no one else will touch and turning them into some pretty good football players.

GO CATS!!!!!

Want to talk football? O.K.

Who's the Tailback going to be? Kenny Ashley stud recurit didn't graduate from Junior College. As it stands right now there are only two scholarship players at that position, and NO fullback again this year. How is Ohio going to get the tough yard?

I hope they can keep injury free this year. The last couple of years have killed the cats. on and off field injury's started to look epidemic.

They have 7 tailbacks on the Roster and at least 4 of them are on scholly, most teams don't go after fullbacks they convert a big tailback or TE.

Ryan Boykin- Freshman 6-1 213
Vince Davidson-jr 5-11 189
L.J. Flint-sr. 5-10 189
Chris Garret-sr. 5-8 185
Donte Harden-so. 5-11 189
Joey Inks-jr. 6-0 208
Jerry Kelly-so. 6-0 238

Well PP.....Boykin is up to 220+ now.....of course you'll say he'll fumble every time......Phil Bates will be used in the "wildcat" in the red zone....but of course you'll say 230 pound QB's with 4.5 speed really can't run.

Kelly is gone....personal issues.....Garret and Flintall have graduated....Harden misses the first 6 games for DUI infraction (PP sez it should have been execution by firing squad on Court Street).....Davidson has the most PT......5'8"-200 pound former Toledo player Casey Meridith was the star of this spring.....not on this list but 5'11"-210 pound Devin Favors was the star of last spring.....Joey Inks was a stud in high school.....but alas......we're doomed....the sky is fallin Chickenshiet Little.

You still avoid my question, there are only two RB's on scholarship.

No....there are 3 as Harden plays in game 7.

First of all there are only two RB's on scholarship is not a question but a statement.

Why don't you ask me ?'s like:

Do you think that having only 2 scholly RB's (actually 3) will hurt the team this year?

Do you think Ohio will suck since they sucked for so many years?

Do you think the other MAC teams have better QB's and Defenses and WR's and CB's and etc. etc.?

Yeah....but I just wonder why he has a personal vendetta against Ohio....he does have some decent info so I'm guessing he's either a disgruntled OU employee or someone who was passed over.

He really doesn't want to get into a question war with me about Ohio vs. the MAC this year....he'll lose on questions like best defensive line....best QB's....best receivers.....best TE....best kicker.....best coach....best safeties.....best MLB.....etc. etc.

Doc: I've crapped more knowledge of the MAC and Ohio football this morning than you've ever known. You still did not answer my question about the Running Back situation, and if that situation does not bother you then you obviously didn't watch last year as Ohio failed to run the ball when it counted and when they needed to control the ball and the clock. That situation has not been addressed as a view from the outside.

Best QB: I love Boo Jackson, they are stronger this year as they graduate a first team P.O.S. in T3, Bates is a great athlete however can he hit a receiver and make the tough throw?

OL: Getting better, but not the type yet who can make any back a good back....Also have lost some key depth

DL: Solid, and probably the best part of the team.

LB: Noah Keller and then ??????????

S: Talent, but either unproven, injury prone, or arrest prone....take your pick

TE: Love Jordan Thompson, but lack of depth

K: Need a punter.....Of course anything was better than I get drunk at a Bowl game and get kicked off the team.

WR: Decent talent, will be interesting to see how Brazil preforms with a #1 CB on him, where last year that #1 was on Price....Of course Brazil must also turn in a good grade card as usual in the second summer session.

In all I see this season coming down to a couple of things: 1 stay healthy, 2 stay out of trouble, 3 beat Toledo (haven't done since when? don't look it up, give me your best guess). 4, Must be able to run the football.

Have you followed Ohio Football since the mid 60's like I have?

Of course not.

You're just a know it all pompous arse.....and Frank Peters could kick yours with one hand tied behind.

If you're an Ohio fan please defect.

Yeah....he's up to 230 pounds now and if he stays healthy and runs like he did in high school he could be a force at OLB.

Ohio St. will stomp the Bobcats this year. Game will not be close, unless you count the coin flip.

Huh.....a team picked by many to be playing in the national championship beats a MAC team.....imagine that.
