The difference between you and I, is that I know Michigan and you do to an extent. Carr was never forced out. Bill Martin would have went ot the edge of the earth to keep Lloyd Carr. Carr was supposed to leave after the 2006 season but Long, Heene, and Hart convinced him not to after the all choose to come back. So no, Carr was never forced out. I am a booster, I have family that works for UM, and I have friends that work for the michigan scout family so to speak.

I slam Snyder because I was around his program on a regular basis and observed it up close. Snyder's program was much like that of Ron Jersa, it lacked any kind of consistency or leadership. Snyder was given 5 years and failed. He should have been let go---case closed. Rich Rod has been a head coach and has won at the top level. Those are facts. I have a little more hope in a coach that has at least done it before.

If you read a good majority of my posts, I have not been very supportive of him at all. The difference in my stance on Rich and Snyder is that I have something invested in the Michigan program and I do not in the Marshall program anymore. The difference is Rich was very successful at WVU---Snyder ran a program into the ground. I am well aware that Rich is struggling, believe me I know. I also know that other coaches have struggled their first two seasons and done just fine (Frank Beamer).

Dubs,
Gary Moller made a bad personal decision, he was a good coach. How about good ol Woody Hayes and his right hook? Real class all the way.

Carr took over a team that was a year away from a National Title and a certain player was handed to him by the name of Charles Woodson. They took over two totally different programs to be very honest.

Carr was a good coach, but honestly his best days had passed him by. His strength and conditioning coach told players the best way to gain weight was to eat an entire pizza. He was losing bowls on a consistent basis and getting beat by teams that should have never been on the same field as them.

Carr walked away, he was not forced out. That is the difference. Carr wanted to retire a year before. Bo had a short list of Ferentz and Rich Rod. One thing is that Carr can not be let off the hook for losing to App State after his team was considered one of the best in the country and then getting drilled by Oregon the next game.

I am one pissed off Michigan fan, that is for certain. I am not pro Rich Rod, I am pro Michigan. If he can turn it around then I will do flip flops all over the place, but if he is not then I will be the first to move on. This is a make or break season, and believe me Rich Rod knows it. The new AD Brandon has already put down ground rules.

So by slamming Snyder you were anti Marshall? Woe down on Rodriguez "winning at the highest level." Come on. Please list the man's top 5 wins.
I'll start:
1. Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Lost a big lead but hung on for the win.
you fill in the rest:
Go ahead list a bunch of wins over Louisville and Pittsburgh. You may have to go back to the old west virginia conference days.
2.
3.
4.
5.

You seem to have a dog in the fight with Snyder, I don't. I could careless about how good of a person he is, I would venture to say that a good majority of college coaches are good people, but winning is the name of the game. He was given 5 years to win, he did not, move on. I was stating facts about Snydr and his program. FACTS. I told everyone he should have been let go a year before and he should have. You either win or you don't---period. People around the Marshall program will tell you the same about the lack of direction his team had. Is he a good person and good father, yes, but he was an awful head coach. Does that make me anti marshall because I spoke the truth? If so, than so be it.

Rich won games. You are a broken record with your who has he beaten. The same case could have been made for Urban Meyer. HE had a single signature win before heading to Florida. I don't know how many times we have had this conversation, but it is getting old. I am on the same page as you. I am not pro Rich Rod, but I am pro Michigan. He has stunk it up. A good bit of it was his fault, another good bit of it was poor recruiting by Carr in the later years, and another was the hand he was given. If he has another poor season this year then I am all for getting rid of his tail. He has been sent that message believe me.

poor recruiting by Carr in the later years ?
I thought RichRod chased off a bunch of guys to revamp the roster for his own style.

The thing is though, Woody would have been given walking paper at the end of the year anyway.
It would have been quiet, and it would have been done to look as though it was Woody's time to go.
But, his 3 straight losses to Michigan, and the blatant beginning of the end of his coaching control was going
to force the AD's hand.

Woody made a poor decision, but it wasn't what cost him is job.

To an extent yes, but Carr's last 3 classes as a whole were not very good.

2004: 7 players from the 21 member class either quit or trtansfered.

2005: James McKinney, Eugene Germany, Chris Richards, Maques Slocum, Brandon Logan, Cory Zibrel, Jason Forcier, Chris McLauren, Justin Schifanno, Mister Simpson, and Johnny Sears all left before Rich took over. Two additional players left after he took over. That is a total of 13 players of 23 leaving the program and 11 of those came before Rich Rod. That is awful recruiting.

2006: Corbani Mixon and Quinton Woods left before Rich and Justin Boren left when Rich took over. That is a total of 13 players in two classes leaving before Rich.

2007: One player left before Rich took over and 5 left under Rich. That is 6 players out of a class of 20.

That is 20 players in the final 3-4 years that left the progam that left before Rich was ever here. Then add in the 20 that have left since he has taken over, and you see why 85 on the 112 man roster are under classmen.

So yes Carr let UM down with his overall recruiting efforts.
